When I saw this post before the one before it, I thought this was about the US, but it's about the UK!

I don't know enough about how civil wars happen to predict whether one will happen in either country. (I also don't know much of anything about UK politics)

Maybe a third World War too.

No, I hope not, because I'm terrified of a nuclear bomb. They don't kill everyone on Earth instantly, only some are killed instantly while everyone else gets radiation poisoning and dies a horrible, slow and painful death, with no medical treatment. It makes COVID look like a breeze.

What is the point in WW3 if nobody's going to win? And how would anyone survive when all you hear about online are convincing conspiracy theories, and just lies in the media? At least in WW2 everyone just had radios and newspapers as their only reliable source, and so it was easier to follow government guidelines and support each other.

In 2025 if we were asked to build bomb shelters in our backyards half the people would be saying "no, don't build a bomb shelter in your backyard, the government only want you to do that so they can watch you, I know because I heard someone say it in a YouTube video I saw the other day. Don't be controlled by the government, be your own person. If you do build a bomb shelter in your backyard then we are going to take pictures of you and turn you into a meme, telling the world how stupid you are to give in to BS."

That's what it would be like. It'd just become a joke.

Every precaution that was asked of people would become a culture war issue with a bunch suddenly proclaiming that it's against their religion to do them, even though it can't be found anywhere in their Bible. Their far right nutjob preacher who pays more attention to far right politics than the Bible told them so.

I'm sick and tired of a**holes blaming all Americans for Trump being voted into power a second time.

People are so quick to judge... we need a new major world disaster.

I hate it when meme things pop up on social media saying that it's every person's fault who voted Labour that the country is in a mess. The Tories didn't do any better, the country was wrecked already. I thought Labour would change things, but it seems they're just like Tories, only left-wing. So I call Kier Starmer a left-wing Tory. I don't know. If you vote Farage then you're a racist, if you vote Labour then you're stupid, if you vote Tory then...you're probably also a racist. Perhaps I'll vote green. After all, I am an animal rights supporter.

I feel the same way about the whole Republican vs Democrat BS in my country. To me they're just two broken wings of the same wounded American eagle waiting for the Russian Bear and Chinese Dragon to rip it apart...

^ I wonder if USA has inspired from Poland or vice-versa. Just replace "Democrats 'n' Republicans" labels with "KO + PiS" and ye get pretty much the political situation in Poland

Perhaps the same could be said for the Catholics vs Protestants in Northern Ireland.

Theirs was a lot of violence over religious ideology while here in the U.S. of A it's purely political and centered around the weird worship/rejection of a washed up reality TV star.

So, let me get this straight. The US won't ban gun ownership because it's in the constitution. But the US are taking away people's human rights even though they have the statue of liberty there which supports freedom. So they can infringe freedom but not gun ownership?
And the green statue of liberty still stands even though he's sending harmless people to death camps? But the US let paranoid schizophrenic people run freely because locking them up in psychiatric units is taking away their human rights? What about the human rights of those he's apparently rounding up to kill like it's Nazi Germany 1940? I don't get it. Please just say it's scaremongering or just a way of getting Trump-supporters to hate Trump?

He's not literally putting immigrants in death camps yet, but he is being a racist prick and his MAGA cult are undoing decades of progress and basic rights that minorities have fought hard for. Not to mention the trust America has worked to build with its allies after WW2. Even our northern neighbors the Canadians hate us now.

The ultimate irony is how the US prides itself on being the "Land of Freedom" when reality it was only ever a free nation for rich white men.

So it's the immigrants they're targeting, not disabled or gay/transgender people? I mean I have my opinions but I do not agree with anyone being hurt, tortured or killed. It's not the way to deal with things.

In the UK only the rich are supported. I do hate the rich for that, though nobody personally. If I were prime minister I'd prioritise the elderly, the poor, the sick (mentally and physically), the disabled (mentally and physically), families, and war veterans. Most of these groups are the most vulnerable and in most need of protection and government support and prioritisation. Autistic people would be included in those groups, even if they're high-functioning. Nobody would go hungry. Nobody would go homeless. Nobody would be discriminated against either because of their skin colour or sexuality or neurology.
The only challenge would be to sell fresh meat without any animals needing to be slaughtered. Hmm.

No they're targeting the LGBTQ and feminist movements too, just in different ways. Like banning abortion and not allowing homosexuality or transgender issues to be discussed in schools and rebanning us from the US military.

Plus Trump has practically encouraged violence against immigrants, gays, transgenders, and feminists.

There's other terrible things he is doing too but that's the bad stuff he's been doing to oppressed groups in this country so far.

Trump is literally the worst US president we ever had. The only accomplishment he's achieved is making the US feel a lot less safe.

He and his cult deserve to be hated. But that doesn't mean every single American deserves condemnation for his rise to power. Some of us tried to protest and vote against him, but in the end that doesn't seem to matter to the rest of the world.

Authoritarian regimes have too many rules. They only need the following three.

Shut up!
Do what you're told!
Die when we kill you!

I wish I knew how to disobey that third one.

Once upon a time there was a civilization that lived a clean happy sin free life and God was happy because he loved this civilization so much. Then, one day one member of this civilization committed a sin so heinous in God's eyes that he spoke with a booming voice "That's it! You all die!' and he smote them all. The end.

Why must we all be punished for the sins of one individual?

The US ambassador said that he's disappointed that he came to Canada.

We're disappointed that he came to Canada, too.
