Everything's become so corporate that every human experience has become spoiled.

That's just the reality of the American economy. We've allowed corporations to dictate modern life because regulating them is communism or something.

I once read an online post that claimed that "Jesus would have been a communist".

Which actually makes a lot of sense given how many people around the world were murdered and oppressed in the name of Jesus. :nerdy:

A recent trend on the Chinese internet promotes the idea that life in America is miserable. I find it incredible, but the United States is too far away from me, just like North Korea, and I can't know the real situation.

They claim that the American middle class, lacking savings, can become homeless due to a minor accident, which makes sense.

A decent home address and clothing can help find a good job. This is a bit strange.

The bizarre part is what follows: they can't find good jobs because they've lost their homes. They die within three to five years due to a lack of homelessness, cause they couldn't pick out the safe parts from the free food or find suitable shelter. Homeless people living in sewers are melted into lumps of flesh by alkaline cleaning agents. Stray dogs that have eaten internal organs have red eyes. The story goes on to include even more horrifying cannibalism.

I think it's absolutely insane, but they keep finding evidence in TV shows: Walter White lost his middle-class status because of cancer and his hourly wage at the car wash wasn't enough to make ends meet; Caroline Channing from 2 Broke Girls had multiple part-time jobs and even sold her blood but still lived a miserable life, and they said she would die if she wasn't taken in.

I'm somewhat convinced.

I don't trust Chinese propaganda any more than I do American propaganda (regardless if it's pro-Trump or anti-Trump). Just because they mix lies with the truth does not mean it's to be trusted.

It would be nice if we could all just get along but our leaders on both sides of the ocean are basically trying to push us into another major war and invent ways for us to hate each other.

I have nothing against Chinese people but a lot of the ones I meet online are always being aggressive towards Americans, and there's even a lot of Americans in my own country who now hate their own country so much they want to see it destroyed because they're now convinced that China has the right idea.

Ugh, it makes my head spin!

AI data centers need massive amounts of water to cool down their systems. If I lose all my water needed to flush my toilet and THEY still need water, I'll be more than happy to send them my Chilled Septic Fluids!

People's lives depend on the availability of those data centers more and more every day, yet they have no idea of the demand those data centers make on our resources. Can't afford to pay your electric bill? Guess why!

The MPRP ain't going away.

the great climate change for economizing (on the street/maintainance)
curfew and forbidden christmas-trees, no snowplowing,
or water, that spring just runs on, but europe don't allow that nonsense(lock it up)
back to the future with flowers in the fountains, is it a thirty year cycle?
the past won't come back, anytime soon
still there's money for unneccessairy works, the plebs just have to go along

governments like their corporations big, bigger is better

wishful thinking, miracle thinking; electricity is free and abundant,
the thinking is wrong, in this whole electricity debacle
wrong from scratch, centralisation and transport

I loved History and Government classes in high school and college. It's painful to see how far of course the United States is from the Constitution and what the Founding Fathers intended. Checks and balances and the "Separation of Powers" principle just thrown by the wayside. At the same time I guess you have to let go of things you can't really control. That is something I have to work on.

I never thought my disappointment in my country could reach new heights...or is it lows?

I don't know. I'm still processing what just happened and it sucks.

I think I've figured out who I'm voting for next election, after a lot of careful thinking. I have always voted and believed in Labour, but this time around I am deeply disappointed in the way they're running this country right now. Even people from the left are angered by Labour's laws. But I'm not going to vote Reform, because that is not going to turn Britain into Utopia, all it'll do is cause inflation. I have learnt this lesson from Brexit. Also I don't trust Farage, he seems to think everyone is rich and will probably treat the working class like s**t.
So I think I'm going to vote Conservatives, for the first time in my life. They're not as worryingly far right as Reform, but they're not ridiculously far left like Labour seems to be. Plus they have been in power many times and the NHS is still standing, so I don't think that would be under threat with the Conservatives in power any time soon.
I'd like to bring back Boris Johnson, if Conservatives were in power again. He may have handled the pandemic badly (then again, which government didn't?), but he's still a little more down to earth than some of these MPs we've had, and I don't remember him churning out all these new laws that Labour are doing.

I'm no longer fearful of a second American civil war, I'm actually hoping for one now.

EU... the place politicians go to when their own people can't stand them anymore.
The modern guillotine... safer, so they did make the world a better place.

It is a cross between heaven, asylum and a retirement home for them.
(but so sad when they go to their shops and find... a jar of pasta sauce that is not restaurant quality. Oh the humanity, the insults to Italian cuisine...)
(not sure if that became international news but an actual diplomatic crisis in our cosy cesspit of Brussels... far away from the hellhole bit... - no, Trump is not always wrong, that bit is an actual hellhole...)

Civil war? What is this, 1862? Haven't people learnt anything?

(Not referring to you).
