Right on, that is a cause I can certainly support.

I'm definitely not taking this side on this issue. After drugs tore my family apart--yes even marijuana--I would be happy if they disappeared off the face of the planet forever.

Well you are entitled to your opinion.......but keep in mind I have seen some horrible alcoholism related things take place in my family but that also concerns individuals and their choices to abuse rather then use in moderation. So I cannot say drugs should not exist simply because they can be a negative factor in 'some' peoples lives.

Weed, sure. (Though it smells horrible.)

But I really don't see why the other ones are necessary...
The obviously... uh... kill you?
"DURHURHUR I WANNA INJECT MYSELF WITH THESE TOXIC CHEMICALS DURHURHUR I WONDER WUT WILL HAPPEN MAYBE I'LL DIE?!?!?"

(And I don't really see what this has to do with ASDs; maybe Random would be more fitting?)

But they don't really have the risk of immediately killing you, now, do they? (And they, meaning cigs and alcohol, can be enjoyed responsibly, while all those chemicals f*****g up your brain do just that... f**k up your brain. Then you turn into a spaz.)
Not to mention they've been around for centuries...
Idiots abusing their laboratory privileges have made all of these other drugs that can kill you after one use.

Cannabis, Psychedelic Mushrooms and Opium have been around for centuries as well. And whats to say alchohol and ciggerettes can be used more responsibly then most other drugs when in fact ciggerettes are more addictive then herion and alcoholism is a common problem as well.

Most psychoactives don't. Most illicit drugs that kill you after one use do so usually because of irresponsible usage and difficulty in gauging dosage (and it being cut with a whole bunch of crap), which just doesn't happen when it's regulated (like cigarettes and alcohol).
Ever researched drug decriminalization in Portugal?
I can understand why people have this opinion, though. :)

I don't think that the state should have the authority to control what you put into your own body.

But, do tell me, kittie, who has to deal with the psychotic criminals when they start flippin' s**t...

The state.

Just curious... how have any of these drugs affected any of your lives or the lives around you positively?
(Drugs I am speaking of: LCD, crack/cocaine, heroin)

Well I did not think you where ret*d, but I thought you where using that alcohol and tobacco has been used for centuries to argue that they have more validity then other drugs....but I could have got the wrong idea from your post.

woah wait a minute, not all drug users are really 'psychotic crimminals'.......that being said the state has to deal with criminals but I see violent crimes like rape and murder as much worse then drug use.

Most drug crimes tend to occur when addiction does, and the negative affects of addiction would be reduced by legalisation in my opinion. Humans have sought to change their counsciousness since the beginning of time, the demand won't go away. Sure, it'd be a great utopia if everyone just decided not to take any psychoactive drugs ever, but that's not going to happen.

By LCD, I'm guessing you mean LSD?
All the drugs you mentioned have affected people both positively and negatively (and, no, I'm not just reciting trip reports and research I've done). Drugs need to be treated with intense caution and respect.

Nah, I just have things against those drugs developed in labs within the past century or so because they're obviously pure chemicals... and don't get me started on the blatant ignorance of pill parties.
I might have misunderstood some parts of your post, too, but I don't know.

Anyways, I personally don't like any drugs like that (alcohol, cigarettes, pot, opium...), nor do I use them, but they really, truly aren't as dangerous as these combinations of chemicals that some people in labs have brought into existence within the past century... even half of a century. Really.
