How can anyone with AS be a modern liberal?

Yeah I said modern. It's been taken over by people who would wish to do America harm.

Classic Liberalism is something entirely different from what is today "a liberal".

Yes, I made that clear in my statement. But it's devoid of any good quality it once had in the past.

Now liberalism is full of "progressives" that seek to redefine the constitution and undermine it for their own private agenda.

This has been going on since the founding of the Republic. In the Adams administration they passed the Alien and Sedition Act which is a blunt contradiction of the First Amendment.

A liberal is still a person that believes in freedom seeing both sides of an issue etc.
A progressive is a Moderate that believes in reform.
The new conservatives don't seem to be able to use the same language as humans.
every word is twisted and has coded meanings.
Virtues become vices and vices moral behavior.
Even the word conservative "a disposition in politics to preserve what is established"
into a de-regulatory lunacy bent on dismantling the government.
A true conservative defends the status quo or a least wants a return to traditional values.
Today's "conservatives" are unrecognizable as Americans.

Most people say "classic liberal" when they mean "libertarian". A modern libertarian or liberal could be considered liberal by 18th century terms.
