I read in the news that several states in the U.S. is returning to either Gas Chamber or Electric Chair because the lethal injections are running out, and in other states, declared unconstitutional, because it
constitutes "cruel and inhumane punishment".

Well, I would say that it is EXACTLY the Electric Chair and Gas Camber that are by no doubt more cruel than ANY other form of punishment. Firing Squad is quicker and more painless.
So is hanging. But Electrocution and Gassing is by no doubt the most painful, cruel and inhumane way to die, because one is struggling to breathe and gets suffocated (gas) without anaesthetics, and
the electric chair without doubt is just another method of burning at the stake.

I am maybe asking a stupid question here:

Why can't the Americans just kill the inmates the humane way they are using euthanasia in Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland?

Inmates in America reported various horrors of the Lethal Inhection method. Nobody has so far complained about any pain doing the the euthanasia in the Netherlands.

If your answer to this question is "inmates deserves to suffer" you are by no means any better than the murderer!

I don't think there is a humane way to do it.Anyway it goes the person is going to be scared s**tless. That's why they shouldn't see it comming, tell them they are free to go,and then shoot then in the back of the head.At least they die happy.

The Dutch are killing people nice, efficiently and without pain.

They just need to offer the same euthanasia procedure to the inmates in the U.S.
How hard can it be?!?! !?

If you want to get rid of the "knowing when to die without one's own consent", just make it a voluteer choice for every life-time sentences.

A shot to put an animal to sleep, 20$, same shot to put a human to sleep 5000$.
You do the math of where its going. its not that its not affordable, just people are greedy.
America nothing but capitalism, run by corporate greed.
When we say we don't have enough it means someone is being to greedy.

If they are aware they are going to be executed,I doubt they feel good about it,what about the mental state before the execution? If someone told me I had to die and it would be nice and painless,I'd still be freaking out.The families of the executed, who have committed no crime, are still going to feel sad about the loss of their family member.

To me hanging seems as bad as those. Anyway you slice it, it's not gonna be fun and many victim's family do not want the one convicted of murder to experience an honorable death.
I believe in DNA evidence only capital cases. Nothing circumstantial.

From my point of view, many things in society is being ignored, issues people needs help with, but instead people try and save costs to where the individual that didn't get the help becomes the aggressors. when it all could have been avoided in the first place with enough preventative measures before peoples lives goes so wrong. all people wants to do is point the finger of blame instead of working on the real problems in our society. its not about blame, its about caring enough about people to do something about it before it gets that far. society does not want to care unless there is something in it for them.

Agreed.

Almost without exception these people have had terribly abusive childhoods, where society failed them completely.

Much easier and more convenient to blame someone than to help them.

Thats because animals are just overdosed massively on barbituates where a lethal injection uses three drugs. An ultrashort acting anesthesia to knock them out, a paralytic to stop them breathing and a drug to stop the heart.

I personally think that murderers should be killed in exactly the same way they killed their victim. That's actually fair.

A fun way to kill them is via alcohol poisoning! At least they will die happy!

I've had alcohol poisoning and it is not a happy experience.

I believe the Russians used to do something like that, except they told you that your appeal was going to be heard by an official and that you had to sign a statement, and when you walked into the room with the desk and paperwork, the executioner was standing behind the door with a pistol. Might be apocryphal though.

Too messy and potentially inexact. Sneaking up behind somebody to shoot them in the back of the head unawares sounds like it could go wrong in various ugly ways. What if they heard you and turned their head around at the last second and you wound up just shooting off their nose or something? I think we should follow the lead of the countries thinkinginpictures cited that do a painless euthanasia (not that I googled to verify). Whatever is preventing nus from doing this I doubt it is the cost. The major expense of execution isn't the execution itself but the Death Row incarceration leading up to it, usually for years.

Incidentally, Temple Grandin agrees with you that ignorance is bliss when it comes to execution. Apparently her slaughterhouse innovations centered around keeping the animals calm and unaware they were in any danger.

Oh come on people, if your going to go that route just put them in a box and gas them with nitrous oxide until they pass out, then suck all the rest of the air out of the box so they suffocate in their sleep. vary peaceful.

Or we can collect them all for a couple decades, then put them all in Yellowstone, stuff a couple thousand tons of liquid explosives (its cheaper then TNT and easier to make) in a couple areas around the caldera to create that wave front that will crack the crust and set the b***h off. that would put any nuke we have or have ever set off to date to shame. they wouldn't really feel it, but what a rush.
