accidentally killing undercover cop while secret search?
What would happen if someone shot an undercover cop if they, for example, breaking into someone house without caus? I know that American had the right to bear arms? But that not in case of EU and certainly not cause of Poland ![]()
In my country of Poland, it is very difficult to get a gun permit, one man once shot a thief with a gun for which he had permission, and he was convicted. It's a f*****g scandal so that the f*****g thief has more rights than the owner!
In addition, the police in my country are abusing secret search warrants that allow them to secretly enter someone's property and search. I once read that our Polish police, secretly searched the apartment of a guy who was suspected of producing methamphetamine, a glorious goal, unfortunately, those morons broke into the wrong house because they had bad intel data and did not check that someone was in the apartment ![]()
And the idiots could simply ask the prosecutor and the judge for a normal regular search warrant
When I watch American films, I like the fact that the owner can shoot a burglar like a dog! ![]()
You do realize that American films greatly exaggerate the reality in this country right?
Each state has different laws. Some states you can actually get into legal trouble for killing or attacking a burglar too which is BS in my opinion.
I think in Florida we have a "stand your ground" law which basically means you can only shoot and kill an intruder while they are inside your property, but if you actually warn them before shooting them you get into legal trouble for murder (or something like that).
While it is true that American movies often exaggerate the “Gun Culture” here is the Statews, a homeowner is well within his rights to defend himself from intruders in his own home and shoot an intruder to death. Unless the home-owner had set a trap for the intruder, or had otherwise lured the intruder into the home to shoot him, he is likely to not face criminal charges, even though he will be arrested, fingerprinted, held for questioning, interrogated, and eventually released after forfeiting his passport.
However, the home-owner could face civil suits from the dead man’s family, and lose everything of value he has for causing the “Wrongful Death” of the intruder.

I think it actually depends on the state. Some places have a law where the homeowner is supposed to flee the intruder, not fight back.
It would be kinda tough to flee when the intruder wakes you up by kicking in your door.

Yeah and it seems very unfair that a criminal can actually sue you for defending yourself.

forfeiting his passport?
“Wrongful Death”?
Why?

flee the intruder, not fight back?
WTF!???
It's some f*****g communist thinking, why would someone flee from their own property!

How many times have I told people Americans really ain't as "free" as they make themselves out to be?

lol
Our government loves to keep tabs on everybody. It's all about control I say.
In Poland we have obligatory ID Cards, you need one to vote, do administrative things like writing legal contract or in Banks.buy alcohol or cigarets, and use in lieu of Polish Pasport if you travel within EU, you can always use a passport as ID card. I heard that Americans not have their own ID Cards and you use Driving license if you had one as identification prof if you have one.

I think that's pretty much the same over here and yeah driver's license are used as ID but if you can't drive (like me) you have to get an ID card.
Apparently not having ID in this country is illegal. lol

Some states require you flee from your home. So unless you are in a room with no windows you can’t defend yourself.

Anti gun people view criminals as victims. It not their fault they’re breaking into your house and trying to hurt you.

Without ID how would you prove you are who you say you are? Someone could say they’re you and convince someone and get all your money.
