Exactly. Once you allow free speech to be policed and controlled by government, it becomes an ongoing process of banning more speech and ideas.

I use censorship, enforced censorship, language policing, bullying. I describe "PC" words as "gobbledegook".

Gosh! Why did I write "bad manners?" I obviously mean "good manners." The quote I remember differs from the one in the video. Anyway, I edited my comment. It differs from the one in the video, but who knows who's correct.

The 1st Amendment states that the government of the United States cannot regulate speech; SCOTUS has repeatedly ruled that this applies particularly to political speech.
While the 1st Amendment guarantees your right to free expression, there's nothing in the text guaranteeing you a Constitutionally protected right to be taken seriously, to indemnify you from the sociological consequences of said free expression, or compelling anyone to provide you with a soapbox and bullhorn.

In essence, most modern anti-political correctness efforts represent the promotion of patriarchal Christian dominionist values. It's not that they object to controlling thought with language, it's just not the kind of thought they like. :skull:
