If anyone has not made the connection I have made, yet, which seems obvious to me - both Meta (parent company of Facebook) - and Bill Gates are heavily, financially intertwined. If Bill Gates goes down, Facebook goes down, and if Bill Gates/Facebook goes down, the vaccine companies go down (there will be no Facebook propaganda regarding vaccines anymore and confidence in them will disappear) and if the vaccine companies go down, without pharmaceutical company funding - the mainstream media have no reason to do anything but contain any ensuing chaos from the circumstances I have described in a previous post.

Do people think those riff-raff that have been targeted for years by propaganda, having been proven right, are simply going to sit tight? They are going to be like rottweilers let off of a leash if this thing blows up.

This is a disaster-in-the-making.

The future Metaverse is very interesting I’ve always been interested in VR ever since watching lawnmower man in the early 90’s. There’s another recent movie out called ready player one, which gives an insight into the type of world we may soon have.

Unfortunately huge numbers of people will be addicted to this that will cause massive damage to society.

People will neglect their families , health and interests to go into their imaginary world, a bit like electronic devices now but on a much bigger scale.

On the upside the computer games will be amazing so will therapy for mental health issues.

Maybe governments will have to introduce time controls like the Chinese do with online gaming.

Many will scream big brother commie control but maybe it’s for the good of society.

There is absolutely no way a Metaverse can be for the good of society, in any shape or form.

I have been designing, animating and programming VR stuff for theatre for the past two years I slipped into this by accident and had the urge to learn fast, so I spent two hundred dollars on steam trying just anything, and read books by psychologists researching this area.
First: yes, all of that. Addiction, people will be driving while wearing headsets, and loss of sense of reality.
However, I don't think there will be any more shootings etc than before. But unlike with good old Doom, VR will massively improve psychopaths aiming and tactical skills. Also physical fitness.
it has great potential for therapy - one experiment described by a stanford professor has the patient come in, sit down and talk about his problem.
they record it, and in step teo, the patient finds himself in the position of the therapist, watching the recording of themselves coming in, sitting down and talking about their problems. Apparently, in this scenario the patient experiences his problems as someone else's problems - and you know how it's alwaus easier to know what someone else should be doing? -
but also: burn victims experience less pain when they're shown cold landscapes in VR.

However, the researchers think it's way too powerful a medium to waste it on office tasks.
John Carmack, CTO at oculus, however talks about "hopping into VR to read your emails" .
I don't want to do that, it will ruin everyone's eyes, abd the extra weight on the head will create a whole bunch of new neck injuries.

But finally: I have built a stage in VR to put on play for the last two months. with buttons for actors to push to trigger events etc. and it will premiere in two weeks.
this afternoon I got a call that something wasn't working and I put on one of the headsets on the desk in my office and joined the rehearsals with the actors 500km away to see what was going wrong.
And it's a really strange feeling because it really does feel like a stage that turns into a a very weird place the second you're alone in there. Like a festival ground, the day after. It has exactly the same vibe as any purpose-built building when the show is over....

oh, btw.: there really isn't enough cool stuff to do in VR, still, to warrant buying a headset for private purposes, and it's going to stay like that for a few more years because right now, making stuff for VR is making videogames on crack. it's so much harder, because video game engines are built for mouse and keyboard or gamepad, and a flat screen. everything requires weird workarounds and looks kinda crap in real 3D.

Not likely. Even if Facebook goes completely kaput, which is unlikely, I'm sure Zuckerburg has other investments.

I’m tickled by the suggestion that Apple restricting how user data can be used for advertising is going to 1) bankrupt Bill Gates (whose primary asset remains stock in an Apple competitor, not Facebook), 2) cause more people to become anti-vaccine (Facebook is notoriously one of the main places that the anti-vaccine movement has organised and recruited), and 3) cause major international pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer to go out of business. It’s just so dramatically removed from reality.

Good to know that Zuck has lost a significant chunk of his oversized wallet at last. Serves him right for getting too dependent on tracking users behind their backs. Have you ever looked at those URLs that people click on Facebook to visit other websites? The clean URL is a fraction of the size of what FB adds to it. I don't know how they find enough data about whoever clicks on one to fill that enormous string. One thing's for sure, FB won't tell me what's in there.

I really don't think Zuck had much overall influence on people getting the jab.

I never saw anything more inept than his broken robot deleting posts that it thought were spreading misinformation, except perhaps the Wrong Planet CloudFront Capcha that thinks I'm a robot every time I make more than one quote in a post here. Zuck can't even get the timestamps right. He's too busy obfuscating his code so that ad blockers find it a bit harder to kill his ads, and now he's obfuscated it so much that his own staff don't know how it works any more. And the irony is, the ad blockers still work. The only thing he's done "right" is to get a lot of people addicted to FB, and now even that's coming unstuck.

I don't think he'll ever be a pauper, but it's a sweet thought.
