If you plant a sunflower seed, do you expect to grow an almond tree?

Rather then argue points of when organs and whatnot are developed during stages of pregnancy, I'd like you to think about this: Regardless of stage, is the life human?

Do you expect that when a human male and human female conceive that the offspring will be a chimpanzee, squirrel, etc. Or shall it be human?

Well, I think you are making some assumptions here. Sometimes when a mother doesn't know the father, she *REALLY* doesn't know the father!

A fetus is undeniably human tissue, but not human tissue I would assign rights to.

Is all human life equal? Should the cancer that the doctor cuts out and kills not have equal rights to all persons??

Cancer in humans is generally part of the walking, talking individual.

There are an extremely large number of steps between a fertilized egg and a newborn.

Ok, then as soon as we develop methods that allow cloning a person from hair we will need to talk about preserving the clippings from the barbershop.

As soon as we develop technology that allows a fetus to develop outside of its host body I'll start caring about fetuses. :)

If you want 10 sunflower plants, do you plant only 10 seeds? Or do you realize that it is normal for some seeds not to make it?
