Yes; I think I have it figured out now.

There is no way McCain makes Cheney look like Gandhi.

The only entity that makes Cheney look like Gandhi in comparison would be Satan himself...

Granted, McCain is no saint, but at the very least his life is not defined by pure, unadultered greed...

PS: The fact that I'm still here after saying that is proof that America is still a free country... just a bit of hope there...

McCain "hates" war...even though he supports Bush's Iraq and Afghan wars and even supported ol' Willy Clinton's wars (in Somalia, Sierra Leone, the Balkan Campaigns)

I think I am understanding the common thread here. Would I be correct in asserting that you don't believe that the above wars were justified? If they are in fact war mongers it would mean that they brought these wars about needlessly and did so more for the sake out of it (whether construction contracts or oil) rather than any sort of real necessity.

Just trying to get an idea on where you all stand on this.

The necessity of the Iraq war is ... dubious.

Ditto. But some wars in the past 10-20 years have been justified wither to stop invasion of an ally (Gulf War I), to prevent or stop genocides (Bosnia and Kosovo), or to protect ourselves from terrorists(Afghanistan).

Yeah well Saddam's military was pretty much crushed by that time

hah.. I think since the beggining of time there have only been a handful of wars that were necessary..
Wars are never mutual, there is always someone who wants more.
I guess it's half and half, but you have to be the one fighting for your home.. otherwise, it's not necessary.
