Well, apparently some folks are learning the meaning of "You do the crime, you do the time."
And it's about time.

In the same way that Jefferson was an amazing guy, despite being a slave owner, or that Polanski is a great filmmaker despite having once drugged and raped a teenage girl, etc, most people aren't entirely good or bad.

And this is why the U.S. is fast going down the sewer: People have bought the lie of moral relativism hook, line, and sinker. I disagreed with it when I took Political Science 101 in college 40 years ago, and, after being screwed by some so-called friends over the past few years, I disagree with it today. In short, I don't care if it's legal or not, nowadays it's immoral (and yes, I consider myself to be very immoral, as a Christian).

"Amazing" can be used to describe anything that amazes, whether good or bad. To call Polanski a great filmmaker only alludes to his skill at film making, and has no implications for his moral character. She called President Trump "wonderful" and my question was, wonderful how? How is he wonderful? That's all I want to know.

right, i didn't know about that one, thanks. i would have wanted to witness that.

But THEY think they should. I don't like the way that they are making Trump into the enemy. I do think the media does have the ability to brainwash people. And I don't care what anyone says, the media is mostly Leftist. All they have to do is keep repeating things (true or not) and people start to believe it. A lot of stories are untrue and the media needs to be held responsible for it - that is why Trump started the Fake News movement.

yeah, it is a bit spooky what brzezinski said about the media's role, and it isn't trumps role either.

rarely do the viewpoints promoted by big corporate media accurately reflect that of the population as a whole, but rather those of the elites who run it, it seems.

those at the helm of big media empires like CNN, etc might do good to at least realize the influence they have over people, but it's ultimately up to individuals to learn not to take things at face value, to compare sources, come to their own conclusions.

i still have hope in smaller, local media, though my our own local newspaper has been under fire recently for bad management and "political incorrectness". but newspapers in general are all on the way out anyway.

Well Nurseangela has not answered my question. That's a shame. I'm honestly trying to understand her perspectives.
Would someone else who shares her sentiments concerning the president care to answer?

I think it's like the movies, "Unforgiven", "Dirty Dozen", or "Suicide Squad" where the villains are what they call "anti-heros".

People think anti-heros like Trump can succeed where "cleaner" people would fail.

For example, a "cleaner" person might be so worried about perceptions that they back down when they get called "racist"

That's a really good analogy. I'm sure that's a good reason why he appeals to many.

Now they get to play the part of martyrs. 'Oh alas, the good guys imprisoned for fighting fascism. They should have just gotten a $50 fine for assaulting people and destroying property. This proves we are under a fascist regime' and so on and on and on.

If you agree with his main political ideas, why would his past misbehavior preclude you from calling him "wonderful". especially if you find said misbehavior all that bad in the first place? Do you claim that your ideas of what is and is not "wonderful" are the only legitimate ones?

Thank you, Mr. D., for your explanation. Even though you and I don't agree on everything political, you understand me. You are very special and wonderful  (even though I have told you that before, it needed to be said again). I'm tired of explaining myself to these "people". I'm not going to do it anymore. Trump is America's President now and I think that speaks for itself.

Well said. I don't think personal sentiments always have to be explained. If ever.

So then that's the world you want to rule, which is also the best of worlds.

For years the Democratic Party has been promoting itself as the "reality-based community" and the "party of science" against the crazy nutty anti-science Republicans like Trump.

So ... you'll be sure to want to join your fellow Democrats across the country this Feb 24th during the crescent moon to cast a binding witch spell to drive Trump from office!

It's not even close. Sure Democrats have their share of crazies but they haven't taken over the party like the Republican crazies have. I mean after all it was an elected Republican Senator who threw a snowball onto the floor of the senate to "disprove" climate change.

http://thehill.com/policy/energy-enviro ... ate-change

And when 97% of scientists agree climate change is real and it's being driven by human activity Democrats actually believe them.
