Reality has a reality bias. But in my experience, people who feel the need to disparage groups with statements like 'over-inflated opinions of themselves' are the ones with over-inflated opinions of themselves- why else would you feel the need to try and take those you disagree with down a peg for existing?

Of course not. That would require it be some kind of conscious being

In my experience, it's people who express overinflated generalizations like "liberals can accurately describe it better and make better choices for humanity and the planet" who have overinflated opinions of themselves.

Statements like that are equally overinflated. Or are you unwilling to put the same negative light on one of your fellow conservatives?

Normally I don't bother to point them out on either side; they're just part of the rhetoric. However, the opportunity to help you correct your inconsistency was too good to resist.

The words "in my opinion" were left out of the selected quotation. I wasn't making a blanket condemnation of an entire group and asserting absolute authority on my side. What I said is the honest opinion of someone who has lived five decades, studied much history and science during that time, and who has observed the political scene as a voting adult the past three decades. I don't overinflate my opinion. For example, I frequently end posts of mine about religion with "Of course I could be wrong."

Take it for what you will, in my opinion conservatives make big noises about protecting the rights of the individual when they are the ones who most try to legislate morality; conservatives make big noise about limiting government spending but what they really do is make loopholes and tax cuts for the wealthiest; conservatives seem to be the worst about exploiting and polluting the planet to make a quick buck with no thought for our or future generations, and conservatives also try to sabotage public school science education with religious brainwashing that has not a shred of scientific evidence supporting it, dumbing down our country and making it less competitive in the global market even though they claim they are doing it for patriotic reasons. These statements are not just an uninformed opinion, but observed facts honestly reported as I see them. These are my own observations too, not something some Faux News commentator tells me to believe. Of course I could be wrong! Prove to me that I am. I can easily cite many incidents from the past thirty years to back up every one of those claims.

When I say conservatives in the above, I mean the right wing in the USA, and I lump the fiscal conservatives and social conservatives together since that is the political reality. Even the Tea Partiers, who make big noise about limiting big government, seem corrupted by prejudice and ignorance about many issues. PPR is a wonderful forum to share viewpoints.

 fair enough good sir. I'm not completely unbiased but I don't think its fair to homogenize liberals or conservatives as they are both representative of many differing viewpoints that can sometimes be bi-partisan in nature
