I have taken the homeopathic capsules Stramonium 6X,told by an uncle who is homeopathic.Even though i don't approve homeopathy i have to say they really do work and are stronger than the others.

In fact Stramonium is the only medicine -whether Homeopathic or conventional- that had any positive effect on me. At that moment (1998, I was 17 years old) I didn't know I was on the spectrum, so my poor mum was fighting an unknown enemy. She thought it was something related to the problems she had while giving me birth, so first she sought for solutions in conventional medicine, and since she found none, then she tried Homeopathics.
I have to state that I've always been a very sceptical person, who relies on Science as the only way to retrieve logos , so I felt amused when I knew I was going to undergo Homeopathical treatment. Of course I thought Homeopathics was a scam, needless to say.
First Homeopathic medicine that doctor gave me had no impact on me, in fact I thought to myself "how on earth it's going to have any effect at all if it's a placebo". Then he gave me Stramonium but not capsules, it was a liquid solution. I had to to take one spoonful before going to bed: THAT WAS MAGICAL!! ! From the very first days I experienced the difference: anxiety was sharply reduced, concentration came naturally and for the first time in my life I slept like a NT!! ! As I barely had any anxiety and slept well, I was in a better mood so my social life got improved. That shy and pessimistic teenager suddlenly turned into a smiling and talkative one. I'd like to point out that even then I wasn't as social as an NT, but far better than I used to. I've always been a good student, but those days even my teachers were bewildered by my improvements. So my grades improved, my health improved, and I even went to discos on Saturdays and achieved to have a girlfriend!! ! I was experiencing the Neurotypical Dream and I was loving it...
Until one day after the best three months in my whole life, the Homeopathic doctor said: "look, the effect of Stramonium is going to end up soon, so I'll prescribe you this other drug which would uplift the effect and make it last for at least an equal period of time". To be honest I have to admit that the man had told me that after a reasonable period of time all the positive effects would go and I would return to my previous state.
The fact is that the other drug had no effect on me at all, and the effect of Stramonium got finished so I fell again into the spectrum. I tried to convince the doctor to prescribe me again Stramonium, now that I had touched the sky with my bare hands I didn't want to fall again into my jail, which at that time I still didn't know it was Autism. The fact that I'm very high functioning and thus my Autistic traits are quite mild made no one think of Autism, and the fact that I'm actually diagnosed is by mere chance, since I met an expert on both High Functioning Classic Autists and High Functioning Aspies who wanted to check how we Spanish teachers worked with them at school, and of course she quickly realised I was one of them.

Going back to the story, while I was trying to convince the doctor to prescribe me Stramonium again he had a heart attack (he was very fat) and died at 42. As he was the only Homeopathic doctor in my area, my mum made me forget about finding another one and seeking for a similar treatment. Already as an adult and having moved to an urban area (actually one of Spain's most populated cities) I found another Homeopath and convinced him to prescribe me Stramonium again, 'though with no result at all.

On the one hand, I try to think about the whole issue in a rational way and reach the conclusion that since Homeopathics it's a scam and all they give you it's a placebo what I experienced was fake. But on the other hand, I approached Homeopathics with a very sceptic mind and even thinking it was a scam, and the first and third substances had no effect at all, but Stramonium made the difference. That makes me wonder whether some of that Homeopathic stuff can actually have any positive effects at all. Furthermore, after doing some quick research on the Internet I have found a lot of Aspies who also experienced positive effects after having had Stramonium, and that really makes me think on the posibilitty that Stramonium may actually have some temporary positive effect on the part of our brains suffering Autism. Honestly, I have to admit that I still don't know what to make of all this...

hmm i dont know how powerfull the alkalines in stramonium are, but at that dilution there could be some left.
other alkalines from the nightshade family produce halucinations and disociation in doses comparable to acid, around 300 mikrograms.
if there are similar doses in datura stramonium then there could be credence to this particular case, not for the reasons believed however.

"the US Environmental Protection Agency lowered the maximum level of arsenic permitted in drinking water from 50 micrograms per liter"(ball court)

some effect other than halucinations would of course require much lower dosage.

come to think of it, if they make halucinogenics in doses upwards of 50mg7l, shouldnt they be regulated someway?

You say:

There is of course a lot of variation in prescreibing practice -

But this is very strange. Three months - not that unreasonable, depending on what the initial potency was - if you mentioned it, I don't remember it. BUT - a single dose, and when it wears down he was going to shift you to something else?

This is not any model I have encountered.

It is good to know they are trying to get to the bottom of this and not telling people, "Well...we do not know how it works, but trust us anyway." How exactly would you perform this research? Because some people back on another video I posted say there is nothing in them. How about research into the peculiar situation when rain hits asphalt? Or how water waste treatment plants work?

I think there should be research if we can cure terrorism by making homeopathic remedies of the water Osama bin Laden was dumped in.

Did you people know graphite treats premature ejaculation?

An ocean ought to be sufficient dilution but you never know....a drop of that oceanic water might have to be diluted even more before it is dilute enough to be homeopathic.

It is not a joke. I'm serious. Philologos himself said everything is ignored except for finding new things, and he claims the HYPOTHESES of how they work are worthless. Forget about radiation or whatever they like to say now, it just is not true. So why not help the guy out a little with some ideas?

(I saw it on another website. It is unfortunately not my own.)

Ooh, this one is about HIV/AIDS. I will let you form your own opinion about this one. Pasteur taken out of context again.

One thing I appreciate, HerrGrimm, is that you can operate with a degree of seriousness.

I do not need ideas that much - I need a team of real researchers.

It is not just the mechanism.

There is an incredible amount of disagreement on posology. Frequent low potency? Infrequent high potency? The three month Stramonium then switch is unusual, but can't be ruled out - there is that much variation.

There is also the issue of the remedies.

A consequence if the marginalization is that a number of the medicine show types - who otherwise would be peddling herbal penicillin and books the ascended master Sklob - have come in and there is no mechanism for segregating them.

There are people doing good work, but it is fragmented.

Ah well.

The human condition. It does not take that much to run clinical trials of luciferin or to do a proving of Lampyris noctiluca. The techs can do that. Real researchers are scarce. Homeopathy has a few.

I will try to pull myself together - it has been a long tiring day.

Bottom line - I have seen homeopathy done by one of rhe real ones enough to get through my show-me skepticism.

Bottom line - homeopathy needs research. Not the kind gave us thalidomide, or the kind that has our friend crippled because Parkinson drugs are desigfned for people who are going to die five years after diagnosis.

The kind of research that finds out why fireflies glow, and how to use curare, and that might any day give ruveyn white coats affirming there is mind.

I really appreciated this, an as no one else seemed inclined to comment on it . . .
I don't understand the purpose in dismissing something because it does not fit our current belief system. That we don't know how homeopathy works is not the same as knowing that it does not work. Critical thinking is a cheap form of intellect, much harder is to try and understand something that requires you to rethink your assumptions.
Why are people here so strongly opposed to homeopathy? This belief that acceptance of homeopathy will lead to the widespread practice of parents of autistic children disregarding other forms of treatment seems as wildly irrational as the people worried that legal gay marriage will lead to the loss of 'family values' and 'moral decay'.
I agree with the above post that if homeopathy does work that it will have side effects, and do not believe practitioners who claim otherwise.
I think most people only turn to homeopathy when nothing else has worked, and being as many forms of mental illness do not respond to treatment, I think having a possibility of there being some help is better than nothing.

I don't personally believe or disbelieve in homeopathy, I relate to the above posters description of being a wary sceptic. I've done enough research and reading to have a basic understanding of the theory of classical homeopathy, and with a basic understanding the theory is not as outlandish as it first may sound. The idea that we are related to monkeys sounds rediculous without a basic understanding of evolution. Use the right words and you can make any theory sound unbelievable.

Homeopathy has been described as working on the principle of like cures like, but as I understand it (declaimer this is my interpretation). Homeopathy works by giving the body information- the body is 75% (or is it 90) percent water, so the information is imprinted onto water and then is able to spread though out the body. The more dilute the information the deeper it penetrates. The body by having the correction information- cures itself.
I'm not saying this works- just describing the theory (this is a very simplified explanation and does not at all describe all the aspects of homeopathy)

Let me describe what happens when we have the common cold (we do not have a cure for colds, we only have medicine to help relieve the symptoms). Virus enters the body (microscopically a virus looks like a spiky ball). Spikes allow the virus to puncture healthy cells impregnated them with virus DNA and turn them into little virus creating factories. We get a sore throat because of all the damaged cells in our throat. White blood cells fight against the virus and try to expel to via mucus. Meanwhile the immune system sorts through the an information storehouse, looking for 'key' that must match exactly the type of virus. When they find this they duplicate it millions of times, each 'key' fits on to each spine of the virus, blunting it and making it impossible for them to damage new cells.
I apologize if the above description is kind of incoherent, I translate complex concepts into a sort of symbolic/ visual language, and its hard to translate them back out into language. And I don't remember the terms for things (why I'm calling things 'information storehouse' and 'keys')
Anyway it's exhausting and I can't manage much more.
Partially because of the symbolic/ visual language I saw the similarity between what I have described above and homeopathic theory. I guess if makes it easier to understand similarities then differences.

I hope some people find this useful, or at the very least it causes people to think.

Not even, for 70 - 80 Kg's of active ingredient that would probably need more water than there are atoms in the solar system to be "potent" enough :P

because physics, observation, (you know when you actually look at what happens when you use it,) all tell us the principle it works on is utter and complete bogus, it has nothing to do with broadening horizons.
there might be some that actually work, but then it will be low dilutions with extremely potent chemicals

there is nothing at all that support even an inkling of the principle they say it works on, nothing at all.
not even quantum mechanics can be used to make it work, at least not that i can gather from anywhere, and that takes true non reality for that to happen,, quantum mechanics allow the whole earth to disapear simply because of bad luck in the blink of an eye, for no reason.

it contains the same alkaloid halucinogens found in nightshade, it is in fact a part of the nightshade family.
something people regularly use as a narcotic, you have been warned.

6X comes up frequently on the site Philologos gave, like here. It think it is homeopathic because of that. I agree more with Oodain's table.

it says the same thing, the limit for arsenic at the time of that table was 50mikrograms/l
meaning that there could be as much as 50mikrograms of alkaloids per liter,
halucinogenic effects start at around 200mikrograms depending on tolerance, so in principle if you drank 4 liters of the stuff you would get pretty darn funky.

this is all in the case of stramonium, most other plants wouldnt contain the very active alkaloids required, (unless you use various psychedellic plants like ayahusca, peyote, san pedro they all contain highly active alkaloids)

to be honest i think it's a slip that it isnt classified as a drug in the first place, there are many.

upon looking at the chart i notice it is the 8x dilution that matches the level of arsenic restriction, making 6x a lot more powerfull, good luck with that.

(edit, got my mg and mikrograms switched there)

Homeopathy as practiced by a competent and serious classical homeopath is - in its sphere, no medical modality works on everything - at least as effective as drug therapy and a sight less deleterious.

Does that include HIV and AIDS like the previous article I mentioned?

This has been a controversy. There are people [and no, they are not ones on whom I can comment as to reliable versus crank] who have said they have seen some positive results. Which might for all I know be - but it is going to be woking on symptoms ands the symptoms of AIDS are basically the symptoms of other things for which AIDS leaves the door open, if I hear right.

There are others who say HUSH - even if you HAVE actual progress, SAYING out loud that you use homeopathy onj AIDS will give it a bad name because conventional wisdom says nothing can fix AIDS. [I have heard since I was reading that things that seem to say there may be AIDS drug progress, but I am not clear on that].

If you ask me [bearing in mind I am an informed skeptic and NOT in the inner and upper circles of homeopathy], I would say this:

Can homeopathy do something about some of the conditins and symptoms? Probably, at least palliation. How much, how deep, I would not want to say.

Can homeopathy undo HIV? Fix AIDS? I am guessing not. Not that I understand the HIV mechanism, but I'm suspecting it might be a bit too farreaching for the resistance strengthening - which the Autoimmune thing might be canceling out anyway.

Same for say Ebola - mayt move too fast.
