I would suggest that most jurisdictions in the US and Canada have employment standards legislation that prohibit employers from dismissing them without cause (or for unreasonable cause). Certainly in Canada if an employer purported to lay an employee off on the basis of economic necessity and turned around to hire an employee to perform the same work for a lower salary, that employer would find itself on the wrong end of a wrongful dismissal action. I suspect the same would be true in any state in the United States.

I wish that you were right in the us there are several states mostly in the west and south were employment is
"at will" meaning the boss does not need a reason to fire a person although racial/sex discrimination is still illegal.
strangely this states correspond quite strongly with the "right to work" anti-union states.

Their is some truth in what you say but the south has been hammered with losts of jobs and we are anti union because we dont support unions we just never have most people in the south would rather be unenployed then to join a union

North Carolina is one of the original sotuerner states and was a memmber of the confederacy.

If people from the south all left america how will the rest of the country win the two wars we are in?

Their are more southerners in the military then their are people from the west or the north.

Hell the south is the war horse of america with out us do you really think we would have much of a military?

If it weren't for the whole End of American Slavery thing, we would have been better off if we had just let the south secede. If any of them want to leave now, we should just let them.

And I am a huge supporter of civil rights its the younger generation in the south thats looking for change the older generation will not be here forever thats where the problem lies but their are plenty of bigots in the north and west ect so its a double standard

The south secede yes but it had a lot more to do with it then just slavery my friend call us tratiors but we fought for what we belived in the civil rights movement started in the south a lot of aftrican americans still choose to live here even after the civil war they still stayed
