Not if the money was given to you OR you earned it doing chores or whatever.

Then welfare recipients are also taxpayers, by your definition.

I reserve the word 'taxpayer' for those with a taxable income.

Didn't you claim to be a 'taxpayer' in the lsd thread? how do you pull that off if you're 15...since you have to be 16 to work in most states?

14 is usually the minimum age but with restrictions.
If your working then you're most likely getting taxed.

Even aside from income tax there's still sales tax and that doesn't matter how old you are.

I don't know that you're working...and if you're using your parents money they are paying the sales tax not you.

I hate the selfishness, the lack of self-respect and respect for each other so many seem to have, the lack of community feeling. I hate the legacy of Thatcher, the waste of talent, the lack of hope or real prospects for many people, particularly in the former industrial areas of my country. I hate that this unelected excuse for a government is attempting to tear away a social safety net without creating employment, demonising the poor while funnelling cash to their rich mates. I hate the compliance of the right wing press with this process, they all sh*t in the same pot. I hate the Tories in the South East who have no understanding of the damage they cause while whinig about public sector workers in the regions, ignoring the fact that their precious market failed to replace the private sector manufacturing jobs that were flushed away by it.

This little economic thing we're all in the midst of is clearly a global problem and it's a bit frightening that politicians do not seem to have any kind of answer. Nothing but clinging to old ideologies and continually blaming "the other side" for causing the problem. My personal perspective is governments have their hands tied because this is a much bigger beast than any single country can possibly handle.

I hate that there is nothing like real universal healthcare in this country.
I hate that those with are valued more than those without.
I hate that when the have nots complain about my second point, they are accused of class envy.
I hate that science is seen as the enemy.

You believe that person A should be taxed to benefit person B against the will of A. Whoever does the taxing is a tyrant and he make B an accomplice.

If a private party did that you would be calling the police. If the government does that you are overflowing with fulsome praise.

Taking from A to give to B against the will of A is theft simpliciter (I seem to remember a Commandment that pertains here). Somehow you are willing to overlook this if the theft is legal.

The government taxes citizens to provide national defense, law enforcement, and and fire protection. Is that theft, too?

I hope this isn't spamming, but the best song on this subject is Robyn Hitchcock's "Devil's Radio"

Despite there being a very diverse mix of cultures and nationalities, each group is so cliquey! Including our own.

this has to do with how one accepts the defects of being human. Humans are a defective and sinful lot. I cannot hate what we all are at some time or another. I might feel disappointed, but that takes a lot less energy than hating. Since I do not have high expectations of the human animal and do not have strong feelings about his shortfall.

We are not lovable, so why get overly excited?

Clearly manors and compassion are leftist concepts and should be discouraged. To hell with all of you if you get in may way I will run you over. I say those things in jest. But once again let me quote Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?"

Good manners is an ancient Hebrew virtue. Old Rabbinical saying: Good manners comes before the Torah. It goes back long before there was left and right in politics.

Compassion and $3.67 will buy you a medium coffee and an old fashioned dough nut at the local dough nut shop.
