Last I checked, there is nobody alive today whom was alive during the American Revolution let alone the Crusades...

The murder of our US Ambassador to Libya for instance took place less than 30 days ago. The people that carried out that attack are currently in the land of the living, everyone responsible for the Crusades have been dead and buried hundreds of years ago.

Trying to claim the two are equivalent is ridiculously stupid considering everyone guilty of anything in the Crusades died centuries ago.

I didn't say they were equivalent. For you to think I did is what's ridiculously stupid. Whether or not everyone guilty of anything in the crusades died centuries ago is irrelevant because the fact remains that christians have since done a f**kton of violent things in the name of their "one true god," And they continue to kill abortion doctors and other people they don't agree with today. So it's a bit ridiculous to call the muslims out as though because a few stoned some christians, that every single muslim is just this bloodthirsty monster who wants to eat christian babies or something. I'm not condoning what they did, but this is not a religious issue. It's a violence issue. Both religions have people who are just violent a**holes.

The Arab International Festival is not a religious event or an exclusively Muslim event. There were Christian Arabs as well as Muslim Arabs at the event. There were also other Christian groups at the event peacefully handing out fliers. These groups were not harassed or attacked.

The so-called "Bible Believers" were not just proselytizing or handing out flyers the way normal Christians do. They were being deliberately loud, obnoxious, and provocative, yelling through a bullhorn. This is at a festival, not a political rally or demonstration where that kind of thing is normally tolerated.

I'm sorry but "free speech" doesn't mean the right to be an obnoxious dick who goes around insulting people and disturbing the peace. These people are basically adult bullies and I don't feel sorry for them one bit for having s**t thrown at them by a group of kids who responded to their baiting.

Speaking of the Crusades, my son wants to be a knight for Halloween. As I am a history buff, I'm making him a Templar costume. After I started making it, it crossed my mind that some people might find it offensive (kind of like a Nazi costume) but in the end I decided to go ahead with it. I do not think there are any Muslims in my town anyway, and he looks awesome in it. Does anyone here think a Templar costume is offensive? I'm just curious.

The fact that Halliburton, a company that supplied equipment to oil companies, was made the major contractor in Iraq under Bush should be an obvious indicator of the interest of oil corporations in Iraq.

No, I didn't know that, but did you know that the christian soldiers indiscriminately slaughtered men, women, and children alike? They'd go charging into cities just killing everybody they could find. They also either took no prisoners or killed all or most of them, while the muslims actually gave christian prisoners medical treatment. In fact, a lot of new medical knowledge was given to the christians because of this fact.

I'm certainly not going to try to argue that everything that was done by the christians during the crusades was justified because I'm too familiar with the history of the wars to make such an ignorant claim. I mean, the christians ultimately ended up fighting each other!

I'm just tired of society pretending the christians started the crusades to be "politically correct" or for whatever their excuse is.

There is no such thing as a religion of peace. Islam is obviously not a religion of peace and makes no pretense of being so. Christianity is also not a religion of peace despite claims to the contrary..........Time to ban organized religion and restrict faith to being a private and personal affair.

Yes I was aware of that fact, I am also aware that not every Christian Soldier behaved in that manner. Fact of the matter is that what went on 800 years ago shouldn't be obsessed over because it's not like any of the guilty parties are alive in any event so harboring hatred over it is completely pointless.

Isn't it interesting that you never see a bunch of Muslims (or some other group) come marching through the middle of a Christian festival, carrying signs telling them that their believes are wrong. Never happens.
