I didn't say it does, just that I think war is a likely possibility. Personally, I'll be trying to catch the first available flight out of Dodge.

Civil war is not even a possibility. Individual states can be given enough autonomy to avoid a civil war.

If it was up to me I would completely shut down the Pentagon, and deactivate all branches of the US military. Except for the National Guard and the Coast Guard. I think thats the type of defense the Founding Fathers would have had in mind for us.

The savings I'd direct toward education, health care, and infrastructure.

Would that be sufficient to stop a wave of Poor People coming over the Mexican Border.

Before jumping to a conclusion read -Camp of the Saints- by Jean Raspaille.

If the founding fathers weren't armed we would still be a colony of England
They didn't fight off the redcoats with rocks.
But I think we send our troops places where they don't need to be.

It must be remembered that this partisanship so dividing the country is relatively recent in American history. It for the most part started with Newt Gingrich when he was in congress. This ugly political division is his legacy. I think in time, bi-partisanship may return once the older population who had been poisoned by Gingrich shuffles off their mortal coil.

I thought Buchanan was your conservative boogyman of the week......

My ancestors were Scotch-Irish,I don't think it was that great over there for them.A good percent of the troops that fought in the War for Independence were Scotch- Irish.I think they had a valid reason to free themselves from the yoke of their past oppressors. The Irish that stayed over there had to endure the potato famine and years of oppression.

Historically, and assuming you do not live in England? A lot. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just suggest you read up on the history of British colonialism.

What is in this picture is not exactly the real world. I was in D.C. recently and it did not look that bad.

It's Washington meets Detroit.
