I will say this, though - you southern guys are more than a little thin skinned when it comes to the topic of racism.

You don't even need to go to Idaho, Bill, you can find that right here in Seattle if you speak the language. It's a bit more out of sight, but it's no less there.

Also, if people made disparaging assumptions about you your whole life based on where you were from and how you talked, you'd probably be a bit sore about it too.

Sorry if my statements got you so upset that you could not rationaly respond.
Is purposefully upsetting a troll being a troll? hmmmmmm.
Anyway, I stand by my observation. Liberals are more open minded and love having their ideas challenged, while conservatives value tranquillity.

Are you willing to elaborate for those of us who don't want research Seattle demographics?

Conservative says: I earned my money the old fashioned way, I worked hard for it.
Liberal says: If you are richer than the poor you must have gotten your money by less than fair means. The rich are rich by making the poor poorer.

I would just like to point out that this thread generated exactly the answers I was looking for. Compare the post communist states who've made the transition to capitalism (The Baltic States and Poland, to mention a few) with the ones who still chose socialism (Belarus, Moldova and a few others) and see who's better off.

You were looking for people to rightfully call your BS a strawman?

The "leftists" you are talking about don't want communism. Is it so hard to understand?

Leftists want socialism, though--and socialism is not a term reserved for Marxists. I've never claimed that the so-called liberals are left-wing; they're center-right and roughly on par with the European Union on the left/right scale. Some democrats are actually further to the right than many republicans. I knew for a fact that this thread would receive a lot of complaints from people who'd try to enforce their views on everyone, accuse me of ad hominem, straw men and all that--and this just shows how hypocritical some people are; joking about the ones who hold a monopoly on truth is bad, making fun of conservatives is OK. This is why you're allowed to poke fun of Glenn Beck's dyslexia, but not Michael Moore's weight.

In any case, the left-wing across the globe is extremely hypocritical and populist.

What Americans call the left has, like the right, always been divided:

Progressives (the middle left) have historically been anti-communist. Many have embraced Keynesian capitalism. President Obama is a progressive, economically, and a conservative, politically.

Anarchocommunists believe in staging a revolution to topple capitalism and establish a communist (classless and stateless) society.

Marxist communists believe in a two-stage approach. First, they anticipate a dictatorship of the workers (when the working class seizes control over government and private industry). Second, a classless, stateless communist society will replace the dictatorship of the workers.

State socialists believe in a society in which the government owns all the major means of production, and private property is eliminated (or almost eliminated).

Democratic socialists believe in establishing worker-owned and publicly-owned enterprises gradually (through the democratic process).

My own views are a mixture of state socialism and democratic socialism.

It is easy to say you have achieved your objective after the event, even if you did not.

You started a thread with a range of sarcastic statements about left wingers, amazingly this has not changed anything, just proved that left and right disagree.

The fact that you can not be bothered to attempt to back up your "Israel proves capitalism works" opinion illustrates your lack of integrity.

Sorry, I forgot you don't need integrity to be political or post on internet forums.
