I can see people are not getting the point here. It's not anti satire. It's anti insults for the sake of insults and I don't wish this thread to be trolled.
I just simply wish to discuss this idea they are two different things. I am not inviting the type of insults I am referring to just for wanting to discuss it.
Think about it, insults are a dime a dozen, it's easy just to call another person a name and draw a demeaning picture of them hoping for attention and giggles. Anyone can do it.
How difficult is to actually come up with something witty and thoughtful, something that really makes people think and consider? I would never want to associate my name with something that is so grade school as to just draw a picture with a dime-a-dozen insult.

You can make a point intelligently and humorously without just coming off like you are trying to come up with the best insult of all time. That is not censorship to me. It is readership and it is interesting.

I get the point, but I disagree.

They weren't being insulting just for the sake of being insulting. They were insulting because their targets were self-righteous, pompous a-holes who used social convention to oppress people. So they broke convention with a will.

It's fine if you don't agree with them.

I don't know, maybe you are really for male supremacy, racism and institutional pedophilia in the church (just a few of the things Charlie Hebdo and the murdered cartoonists are against) -- but you are just wrong to say they had no point in their message or method. South Park is a great analogy.

People are definitely not understanding because I am all for more women in politics, equal pay for women, AND respect for ALL people, see? RESPECT.

I see one group of religious bigots who use insults as weapons all the time. They do it on purpose. Is the answer to just call them insults in return? What good does it do? It has no impact on them, they just keep churning their own insult mill. It disgusts me.

It's everywhere. What is so bad about considering that it is okay to evolve?

Do you also respect the Muslims in Rotherham, England who gang raped at least 1400 young and very young girls? Who made gang rape a fact of life for teenage girls as young as 12 and 13?

From what I've been reading, the problems in Europe with Muslims exerting control over their neighborhoods and the politicians and police becoming more and more afraid to try to do anything indicates a very real and disturbing problem for the world. No matter what much of the US media would like us to believe, there are serious problems throughout the EU. Let's hope that it doesn't spread over here.

There is no indication that type of situation would since we monitor much more and we have far less immigration from that part of the world, so if this is organized crime, it is less likely to occur here.

I understand it fully and I recognize hypocrisy when I see it and am not hesitant to point it out. People will complain about childish insults online yet they will spend money on them only because they are in a magazine. An insult is an insult, doesn't matter who it's aimed at and most agree, it's harassment. Most do not consider harassment to be satire.

How exactly were they harassing Muslims, if I'm reading your post correctly?

They satirized ALL religions. If they stop and cherry pick only certain ones, they'd be hypocrites, which they weren't.

You keep typing "satire" and "satirize" over and over. I am not talking about satire I keep having to type that again and again. I am not talking about satires of religions. I am talking about insults. I do not consider insults to be satire.

Why is it all someone has to do is call what they publish satire and suddenly it's never an insult and no one is allowed to evaluate it or think about it because that is limiting free speech?

If you are not allowing people to evaluate the media, you are imposing on their free speech and freedom of expression.

And if you have enough people saying what you do is not okay by them, you should LISTEN AND RESPECT THEM. Yes? I think so. That sounds reasonable to me. You don't just keep it up. I mean come on. Why do people not want to listen to others? I am talking about methods of communication here, nothing else. Just people asking favors of others.

Christ, I honestly see how you don't get it. What, you want them to just exempt Islam from satire because of crazy fundamentalists? These people were heroes for freedom of speech. Religion is something that can be mocked, satirized and made fun of as you are not born into it. You don't choose to be your skin color, but you can choose whether or not to follow a faith.

What I saw was insults. There could be some legitimate satires too, but the fact you have to buy them in the same issues containing the insults, it's enough to cause me not to buy it and I don't have to buy it. I shouldn't have to buy something unless I like what it is.

However, I will not be made to feel I don't support freedom because I don't like something and I would not buy it.

Uh, what? You're the one saying they shouldn't have insulted Islam and should have not provoked them, and you're accusing other people of trying to censor stuff?
