Christianity is about God and morality and so forth. It isn't really about culture at all.

"God, morality and so forth"? That could mean practically any religion. You could just as well be a muslim.

Why should I have to summarize my views in such a precise way that they can't possibly be confused with islam in a two sentence post?

Is there something actually wrong with this post? This is the second time someone objected to it, which seems quite a lot for a two sentence post.

Well, if it ain't about culture, just about "God, morality and stuff like that", where is your reference point? Remember that Allah is "God" in Arabian.

What do you mean by 'reference point'?

Yes, I know the arabic word for God is Allah, and arabic Christians use the word Allah as well.

You know, trying to define a specific kind of god, and a morality, without using culture as a reference.

I wouldn't use culture as a reference for either of these two things. You can understand religious documents better if you have an understanding of the surrounding culture when they were written, but I don't think this is what you're talking about.

Oh, but which religious documents do you mean?

You are never alone, for God is always with you.
I would want to believe it more if I felt lonelier.

Oh, but which religious documents do you mean?

I would mean the Christian Bible, but the point is valid for any religious documents (and most non-religious documents).

God, morality and stuff like that? How come these religious documents contradict each other? And why do you mean the christian bible in particular?

Is Jesus a Temptation to people who are lonely?

Hmmm....I've always felt lonely but never really thought of jesus as being the solution. Did go to a few churches hoping to meet people and I still felt very alone especially amongst the extraverted and go getters.

Thanks....I guess...

I don't know how some people don't get as wrapped up as I do with topics in general here....I guess you could call it a special interest of mine. I'm not as horrible as I use to be but still......it's hard not to respond or give in my two cents worth of sharing.
