That's not what the defense secretary said.

At this point, I don't trust the Defense Secretary. He's already been caught lieing about the report concerning repealing DADT. I could see him lieing about this as well.

It matches what the defense agencies of every country involved have said. Now, I wouldn't be surprised that they would lie (after all, most of the cables document lies on the part of our governments) but it would be rather odd for them to lie in a way that makes it sound like Wikileaks is doing less harm than they actually are, considering they are desperate to portray Wikileaks and Assange as a menace to the Western world.

Well let's just say Gates wasn't telling the whole story on the subject and the numbers paint a different picture. I think Senator John McCain, called him on it.

What numbers? Who has been endangered by the leaks aside from Julian Assange and Bradley Manning?

McCain has no credibility. He's a senile old man, and besides that a gross opportunist who will say whatever seems to suit the moment.

Nasa sells shuttle PCs without wiping secret data

With this kind of rampant idiocy at large in the states, the US is in NO position to be whining because someone actually got hold of some of the information they just leave lying around the place for anyone to find.

If anyone 's life is threatened by the cables, then fault should go to no other than the US government. You don't put this sort of sensitive information in cables that 3000000 people and their grandmas are going to read.
