Same reason the left doesn't distance themselves from Alan Grayson, Keith Olbermann, Ed Shultz, etc.

I'm not on the right and I certainly don't think of Glenn Beck as being "on my side", I don't terribly care about the man one way or the other. However, I have a real problem with some of the attacks on him and the greater First Amendment ramifications. I don't care what he said, all he did is talk, and in a free country that is not a crime. I'm already hearing rumblings about the fairness doctrine and bills have been proposed curtailing speech, so I think my alarm at the attacks on political commentators are well justified.

Dox47, the thing is all this ranting by people on the left has proven Beck, Limbaugh, etc. to be correct about the intolerance of the left. Dox47, you know what is scary to me, that Beck is actually telling the truth.

Fact is if someone actually takes the time to research what Glenn Beck says (without paying attention to trash like Huffington Post), you'll find he is telling the truth. Which is more scary than him being nuts.

Cool thing is, that after the behavior of the mainstream media, it has proven that ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CBS, CNN, New York Times, AP, Reuters, NPR, etc. all cannot be trusted at all. Their blatant hatred of Conservatives has been revealed for everyone to see.

They aren't really equivalent to Beck though. I mean, especially the popular notion that Olbermann is the Beck of the Left just seems ridiculous to me. I'm not at all a fan of Olbermann's, but there is a huge difference between him and Beck.

You're right, Beck is actually more rational and actually does research before he spouts off something than Olberman does.

You think it is funny to accuse people of being accessories to murder Orwell? Seriously?

A white guy kills 6 people, it is a crazy schizophrenic.

A Muslim kills 6 people, it is Jihad and we must continue Iraq's war until all of them are finished.

No, seriously. "Blood libel" look it up.

Where did he say that? Are you confusing him with someone else? I'm having difficulty figuring out how your posts relate to his any more.

I'm kinda mocking Orwell's lack of objectivity at this point. I know he is trying to say that Beck is worse than Olberman, and quite frankly I think Orwell has proven he is so biased that he would think a Saint whom happens to be conservative is the spawn of Satan because the Conservative happens to disagree with Orwell's world view.

Beck has had every opportunity to stoop to Olberman's level during this tragedy and he did not. Beck has behaved far more rationally than Olberman has during this entire situation (hell he has been more rational than almost the entire mainstream media).

I don't think you've ever listened to Ed Schultz then. Don't worry, according to the ratings nobody else has either. Schultz strikes me as a legitimately unstable person. He says he carries a gun for self defense tho(despite being against gun rights), go figure.

No. What is scary is that there are millions of paranoid delusional people who think like you. You lack perspective. You can't even see how the American far-right is perceived by virtually everyone else in the free-world as extremist and bordering on delusional. Yet you can't see it. You can't see the forest for the trees. You want to label as "hate" the reaction of sane people to the blatant insanity of people like Beck.

The only eqivalence I see is one of tone. Both Beck and Olbermann are in-you-face personalities. In terms of content there's no comparison at all.

It doesn't matter that they think we are insane. If we travel outside the US, then we need to be more discreet, but what the outside world thinks of what Americans do inside America is none of their damn business. If other countries want to conform to each other like a bunch of middle school kids with no sense of identity, then that is their problem. Most liberal countries have adopted social policies that are likely to cause them to rot from the inside out, so yeah, there is a lot to be vocal about!

Their difference is that conservative commentators are blunt in their speech and liberal commentators fill their statements with an extra large helping of BS (aka political correctness).

No sense of identity? That statement is really telling. I've noticed that the American right, in particular the Tea Party movement, is more about a cheap appeal to a certain identity than it is about any kind of substantive philosophy. I don't get why people are so shallow as to base their personal identity on a political affiliation.

Also, social policies do not cause countries to rot. Anti-intellectualism causes countries to rot. Countries rot from the inside out when their citizenry constantly fear of change and pine for the past.

Actually liberals can be just as blunt as conservatives. I'd say Alan Grayson was pretty damn blunt, and the right hated him for it. The difference is content.

I agree that anti-intellectualism and other garbage cultural/subcultural values are a big factor, but that's usually in conjunction with social policies. Trashy cultural/subcultural values are just that alone, but when you have the government involved, it becomes social engineering.

And f**k virtually everyone else in the free world. I think it's contradictory that you talk about how bad conformity is, yet here you are saying "Since virtually everyone else in the free world hates the right wingers in the states, then they must be right since it's virtually everyone". Yes, I know you said "far-right wingers", but right wingers with more balanced views find em ridiculous as well, so it's obviously an attack on the whole right wing side of the spectrum for you to say virtually everyone else in the free world.

I can't stand when every time a shooting happens, some European official has to talk about how uncivilized the states is cuz of their gun laws. A lot of the violence that happens is influenced by socioeconomic factors as well as subcultural and has nothing to do with legal access to guns (other than the crook knowing that their victims are less likely to have guns which makes em easier targets to prey on).

Yeah I'd really love to live in the UK where they ban outsiders from entering the country just because they disagree with em. Oh yeah, and if you think restraining orders are bad, look up ASBO which is some BS police state policy. You should also look up how that policy has been abused. Here it is straight from wikipedia as well as their sources:

Quote:
* Two teenage boys from east Manchester forbidden to wear one golf glove, as it was a symbol of membership of a particular gang.[9]
* A 13-year-old forbidden to use the word "grass" as a term of abuse in order to threaten people.[9]
* A 15-year-old forbidden to play football in his street.[9]
* An 18-year-old male was banned from congregating with more than three youths, and subsequently arrested when he entered a very popular youth club. The subject scheduled for that day in the club was how to deal with anti-social behaviour.[9]
* The first farmer to be given an ASBO was instructed to keep his geese and pigs from damaging his neighbour's property.[9]
* The oldest recipient of an ASBO, an 87-year-old man who was sarcastic to his neighbours.[9]
* The youngest person to be threatened with an ASBO, a two-year-old boy accused of kicking a football at windows over a fence 7 feet (2 m) high and verbally abusing residents when asked to stop. This, however, turned out to be a police error.[40]
* A woman was forbidden to make excessive noise during sex anywhere in England.[41]

Actually its more of using the past as inspiration. The Tea Party movement is actually more grounded in reality than the far left is.

Actually social policies can cause a country to rot from the inside and eventually collapse. Also when "intellectuals" and I use the term loosely a better description would be delusional people come up with bonehead schemes that a country can't possibly afford, that will cause a country to collapse.

Well here is the thing, the right wing pundits actually have facts and research to back them up what they say. The left as we have seen is just plain spewing bull, half-truths, and lies.

I don't hate Alan Grayson, I think the man needs help from a mental hospital, but I don't hate him.

Anti-stab VESTS. I have no idea what anti-stab KNIVES might be. Spoons perhaps? And they DO stop you being stabbed. That's what they are FOR. Your government subpoenas Social Networking site users WORLD-WIDE. How about that for "taking over the net"? And its a LOT harder to "ban outsiders" because of what they say than you seem to think it is. And whilst ASBOs are a failure, they are an attempt to control a plague of anti-social behaviour we suffer from at the hands of unruly children, which is a blight on most towns and cities. If they failed, its because dumb-asses used them indiscriminately for ridiculous things, rather than against real problem behaviour. What would you prefer? We shoot the little f*****s? Better get a better idea of what is going on here before you knock it

It is a continuing lie that Inuyasha has been spreading about me recently. He is either completely delusional (a very likely possibility, given the overall body of his posts) or simply a despicable human being.

I have never once accused anyone on the right of being an accessory to murder, especially not in regards to the Tucson shooting. Hell, I've never even accused any right-wing media figures or pundits of being "accessories" to murders that plainly were motivated by right-wing ideology, such as the pro-lifer gunning down Dr. Tiller in church. The worst possible accusation that could sanely be made against right-wing figures in relation to any murders would be "incitement," and I have already gone on record, repeatedly, stating that that could not apply to the case in Tucson.
