I don't really want to alienate all self-described conservatives by playing into the well established political memes. I mean, I agree that secessionists are stupid and insecure people, but I don't really like lumping people under these broad political labels that we've conditioned ourselves to become so emotionally attached to. I think we need to challenge ideas specifically and not rap ourselves up in over-simplified identities and stereotypes, which the liberal-conservative paradigm is so good at doing. The truth is that people are really more complex than the labels give credit for and that there's a very wide spectrum of thought and opinion with so much gray area that our simple, polarized labels of left-right, liberal-conservative, republican-democrat, don't really do justice. Really all these polarizing identities do is play into our lower, cave man instincts. They encourage group think and an us against them mentality. It serves the purpose of people with nefarious motives who want to divide the American nation against itself.
As far as the secessionists go, they strike me as these morons that like to dress up in period costumes and think their selves the reincarnation of the founding fathers. The lesson they should learn from history is that if it weren't for solidarity and unity among the colonies, the American revolutionaries wouldn't have won against the crown.
