This is so silly. I mean really. Men are disposable? Hardly at least where I live. Men have things they do, while women do things. Men saying they are disposable is just this victim complex they have. It really is. I have never seen anyone say they are disposable. The only ones that treat them that way is the military but that was back before technology intervened. Nowadays they are much more protected in combat and women are pressurizing to take on more active duty roles so men aren't out there taking the brunt of it by themselves.

It's just a few males trying to create some drama. What better way than to declare they are disposable? Silly.

It's just the "Culture of Victimhood" rearing it's ugly head. When you haven't accomplished anything of note in your life, being the "Biggest Victim" is the next best thing.

As for the military, in the U.S., we have an all-volunteer force, and men are hardly treated as "disposable." Besides, women will be permitted in direct combat roles in 2016, so, hurrah, equality.

During the Vietnam war men were being treated as disposable imo and that's not trying to create a victim culture. US has come a long way in addressing those issues but we still a ways to go. World War II was the worst when it came to this idea that human beings are disposable. There's some improvement, at least, in Europe and the US.

If you find an image like this on a random google search, that proves it is true.
I get rather annoyed by that stereotype because i get this message that we men are all stupid compared to women. When I was a boy in Elementary school the girls would laugh and say girls are smarter tan boys hahaha and it kinda hurts my feelings and I feel worthless regardless of the fact I am smarter than over 90% of the other students in my school including the girls. And the fact they try to look over my paper and copy my answers when taking tests. It was pretty much the same in Jr. High and High School I had yet to find a girl smarter than me in my field, but yet I am a guy am I a freak of nature? I thought that women are supposed to be smarter than men, and yet Im a man......Problem.. stereotype?

The Myth of Male Power: Why Men are the Disposable Sex (Simon and Schuster, 1st Ed., 1993; 2nd Ed., Berkely, 2000) is an internationally best-selling book by Warren Farrell. In the book, Farrell argues that the widespread perception of men having inordinate social and economic power is false, and that men are actually systematically disadvantaged in many ways.

"A revolutionary understanding of equality, power, women, and men. I love this book!"

--Karen DeCrow, former president, National Organization for Women

"More riveting than most novels, The Myth of Male Power is brilliant, insightful, and devastating. If you thought Robert Bly and Camille Paglia shook up gender discourse... prepare for a major earthquake! No one who reads this book with an open mind will ever look at men--or women--in the same way. It is a quantum leap into a more humane future."

--Eugene R. August, Ph.D., Professor of Literature, University of Dayton; author of Men's Studies: A Selected and Annotated Interdisciplinary Bibliography

You know Warren Farrell is a feminist. You are taking his book out context, there is more to it than just the title. His idea isn't to denounce the patriarchy, but rather to redefine to the system away from the conventional definition of patriarchy by pointing out how men are being screwed over as well by the system.

Protesters demonstrated at a lecture entitled "From Misogyny & Misandry to Intersexual Dialogue" by Dr. Katherine Young and Dr. Paul Nathanson, authors of Spreading Misandry and Legalizing Misandry. The lecture at the University of Toronto was sponsored by the Canadian Association For Equality (CAFE)

And you know who buys into this more than anyone else? The one group that goes and sees all those Hollywood films where men die...those are the films that gross the highest profits at the box office -which gives Hollywood the incentive to keep producing and releasing more and more - why surprise it's the men.
I find this incredibly ironic. Women do not get cheap thrills out of seeing men's blood and guts spilled on the big screen but if you suggest to certain men they go see another movie they scream and moan about it being a chick flick and they are such victims because feminists want there to be nothing but chick flicks wah wah wah. If you want things to change then you men have to be willing to forgo some of the blood and guts. Don't pay to see those movies and Hollywood will either stop making them or make less.

I honestly believe it's just impossible to ever satisfy certain men same way it is certain women. That's just a fact.
This is why I prefer male and female cats and dogs to male and female humans.

Aaaannnddd.......

So far, this thread has just been about men victimizing other men and has nothing to do women.

Word. Not that woman can't victimize men, it's just that in general they don't have the power to do it on a large scale.

A SPECTACULAR gender gap has resulted in men's health problems being allocated a quarter of the funding women's health research gets, ranked just ahead of parasitic infections.

This is even though men die four and a half years earlier than women, and are 60 per cent more likely to die from cancer.

It is one reason there is still no reliable test to detect aggressive forms of prostate cancer, a bigger killer than breast cancer.

Men's health ranked 36th for federal government health research funding in 2012, behind sexually transmitted infections and just ahead of parasitic infections, an exclusive analysis by News Corp Australia shows.

Since 2003 women's health research received more than $833 million from the National Health and Medical Research Council compared to less than $200 million for men.

Breast cancer received $60 million more than prostate cancer and ovarian cancer $64 million more than testicular cancer.

The smaller funding for men's health research is a paradox given their average life expectancy is just 79.7 compared to 84.2 for women.

And the fact that one in two Australian men will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85 compared to only 1 in 3 Australian women.

Prostate Cancer Foundation chief Dr Anthony Lowe says "it is unexpected for men to find themselves in this position" and he says men's failure to seek healthcare for themselves is partly to blame.

"We know men are much worse at health seeking behaviour and have worse health outcomes," he said.

NRL identity Darryl Brohman was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2010 and is concerned about the lack of knowledge of this cancer that impacts the lives of 1 in 7 men.

Patriarchy is the state of being grasped by a powerful man.

But some people like it like that, and who am I to judge? I mean, who made me God?
