No, my concern is far more focused on the Republican-Democratic debate now raging (almost on cue) about the socio-political results of the next Court nominee. Both political parties have reasons to stand their ground. In the midst of this carnival, do we really believe that there are no "interested parties" doing what they must to guarantee the result?

I knew someone would bring this up. This is what I mean by thinking for yourself and asking questions and finding facts. I have several different news sources that I listen to and Michael Savage is one. So is Glenn Beck, Drudge, Alex Jones, Sean Hannity, and to a point Fox News and CNN. I will not listen to MSNBC. Even though I may listen to these sources I also pick and choose what I believe. I will listen then compare notes to the others. I will not believe anything if there is conflicting information. I find the big channels like CNN and Fox aren't going to tell the small bits of info that could be important. People always say they don't think these sources are credible, but Glenn Beck, Savage and Alex Jones will tell you what they know and then not to accept what they say as fact, but to research and make sure what they are saying is true.

About Savage and how he thinks about autism, I read what he had to say and I chose not to believe it - otherwise I wouldn't be here. However, that's his opinion and he is able to speak his views. I'm an advocate for free speech.

If there are any news sources people here use that they think tell the truth, then I'd be more than willing to add them to my list of news sources.


Regardless, Savage is a real Wiener.
Let's see if you get that reference.

Well they should be slaves to the law.

Also there is something to be said of originalists and textualists like Scallia. Reason: If bad legislation is voted in, it is not the job of the Judiciary to make it better. Bad legislation should be changed by the democratic process. That means getting the wording right too.

I'm more of a texualist. Originalism has some flaws, as some legislation has a a degree of future proofing and adaptability embedded.

The problem with intentualism, is it it doesn't promote good legislation and it is not always possible to deduce the clear intent. Even if you have session recordings, you can only take the law itself as valid.

Originalism and Texualism aren't reason not to change the Constitution, just an approach to interpretation of law. If anything they should encourage continuous improvement.

I wonder if those getting hot and bother, even really understand any of this, or is just fantasy football teams.

This just in. The Justice of the Peace is trying to paint Scalia with all these "supposed" health problems relating to his heart. Patients do have to go through a cardiac workup and be cleared by a cardiologist for surgery. Scalia evidently needed a rotator cuff surgery and was told that physical therapy would be best. I went on the Internet to find other evidence that Scalia did play tennis and I did find several sources that confirmed it to be true. If the guy can play tennis, he sure doesn't have any heart problems. Another piece of the puzzle.



Off Topic: Scalia could have been playing tennis with a heart condition. People in general and men in particular hide conditions all the time out of denial or bieng macho. How do you think my tongue cancer got so bad?. Also one can can have a severe disease that does not present as severe. As s nurse this is necessary to know.


This could be true. However, if Scalia played tennis like they said he did, a lot of medical conditions can be kept under better control or eliminated with vigorous exercise such as hypertension and diabetes. Let's admit that tennis is a very active sport and to be an "avid tennis player" one would have to be in very good condition.

Those are all crazy people. Glenn Beck is possibly clinically insane. Hannity is just an idiot. Alex Jones is a moron. Michael Savage is a professional angry person.

It's not possible to have a less controversial death. I bet his conscience finally had enough and strangled him. Good riddance to an ignorant piece of s**t.

I would suggest you listen to Thom Hartman if you want real news or facts. There are other sources, but he is rather good. Go online and stream his show. You can even call in and dispute him He'll take all calls as long as you aren't drunk or foul mouthed as he is on the air...


Thom Hartman. I'll have to look that one up. What is he saying about this situation?

I put nothing past Asswipe - NOTHING. I thought I read somewhere that the remaining justices could still vote and the outcome be tied so whatever circumstance they were voting on would still go Asswipe's way. Not true? Anyone know for sure?

And another thing, I don't put it past some Republicans to be in on something like this - I'm talking about the Rhino Republicans like Lindsey Graham and John McCain. But that's a whole different story.

At the U.S. Supreme Court, split votes don't set national precedent BUT do confirm the opinion of a circuit or (more rarely) a district court that is under review. Split decisions do NOT leave cases in legal limbo. There have been many split votes in Court history usually because of a justice who was, at the time a case is considered, recused, ill or otherwise absent.

It's recommended that people with heart conditions exercise if they are able.Being a nurse,you should know this.

I do know that since I am also brilliant. However, I would be more likely to believe that avid tennis players don't have heart conditions, unless hereditary, in the first place.

Which leads me back to my first point of having an autopsy so everyone isn't just guessing why this guy died in repose position with a pillow over his face and no rumpled bed sheets. I work on a cardiac floor with cardiac patients so I know more than you give me credit for. Most cardiac patients have other comorbid conditions that have put them where they are (such as copd) and I've been on the telemetry unit for maybe 15 months and I haven't seen any avid tennis players around age 79 - actually I haven't seen any.

Actually, we have yet to hear from Scalia's personal physician on what medical problem Scalia actually had. I believe they said the good doctor hung up without answering any questions.
