I don't think Biden would be either.

So how come the plan is for the Dems to defeat Trump using their weakest candidate. That doesn't seem like a good plan.

I don't think it is a good plan either.
But I have heard it suggested that Biden will be replaced if the Democrats win. <shrug>

I know that a party removing their own leader is an Australian tradition but I don't think the American system allows for that.

They can’t remove a leader AFTER he wins.

"KK yes i think the plant manager finds him quite talented and has no reason to fire him as long as he does the work he's paid for in between...
rap is just as dependent on clever wording as a Gilbert and Sullivan opera!

we folk must utilize what we have.

@RG our SA system also allows for the president or party leader to be toppled or forced out if he's no good. It has been done before. The US system seems a bit flawed as there seems little accountability. Our national leaders tend to follow the party line and operate by consensus, which has both pros and cons.

America does not have a Parliamentary system. I first encountered the concept of a politician being "ousted" when my mother's Canadian cousin talked about it. I can also recall the unusual (to me) way she pronounced the word "ousted".

However there is no law to prevent members of Biden's party from pressuring him to resign in which case the Vice President would automatically become President. This happened in 1974. I have absolutely no idea who the Vice President will be though. The best choice (on paper) would seem to be Stacey Abrams although to me she seems to have zero "charisma" which has been inordinately important to Americans ever since the very charismatic sex addict John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

There is a way to “oust” a US President. A conviction by the Senate after impeachment is the obvious way.

There is a provision, too, that would allow an ouster if the President is proven to be mentally incapable of being President. I’ll have to look up the specific provision.

The provision is the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, Section 4.

I don't consider either of these to be an "ouster" in the political sense. They are Constitutional provisions to ensure the President can be legally removed if they are either a.) likely a criminal or b.) clearly incapable of performing their duties. They are intended to be non-partisan, however I can't see either happening unless the opposing party holds unchallenged control over both Houses of Congress.

I've got a thread for it, but I don't think it was ever the only place I contributed. I've come and gone from PP&R at times.

I appreciate that you find them clever, it's how I keep myself amused at work. Your inner monologue probably gets more of the rhymes than some other posters here since stuff from Queens, Bronx and Staten Island makes up so much of what I listen to.

Sanders doesn’t care about the poor. He just knew he needed them to win so he tries to pander to us. I for one didn’t fall for it. He’s a big hypocrite

the reason the polls were so wildly wrong in '16 is that the proto-magas didn't feel any compunction about deceiving the pollsters about how they really felt. the same thing is happening this time. magas lump pollsters in with the press and they have shown they hate both.

The reason polls are always wrong are they only poll liberal democrats.

There’s at least one post somewhere here that I spent over an hour and a half typing: with footnotes! No chance to do that in a face to face conversation, monosyllabic grunts and silence are my norm there.

I know that a party removing their own leader is an Australian tradition but I don't think the American system allows for that.

He’d have to resign in which case the vp would tske over and I wouldn’t put it past democrats to do thst. They did it here in my state
See our past governor was corrupt in many ways but one way which no one could ignore for long was he was giving his wife’s company government contracts.
But if the news covered thst he’d lose his the election. See election here are very close. 49% to 61% close.
So they hid and denied the corruption until he won. Then days after the news was like just kidding it was all True and he needs to resign. Week or so after the election he resigned and picked his successor. See the resign is important, if he hadn’t resigned he’d been kicked out for corruption and then the republican who got 49% of the vote would have been put in. So by running a bad guy and having him just resign after the election the democrats ensured a unelected democrat would be governor, and she still is until 2024
Oh and she can’t run for re-election, but she’s still fund raising for re-election so she can pocket millions of dollars, most from Bloomberg and other rich out of state democrats.

So thst is now the democrat party can remove their own leader. So Pay good attention to whoever his vp is cause giving his mental state I see Biden probably resigning due to medical issues and his vp taking over. Probably someone they know they’d had a hard chance running.
Hopefully trump wins again. Probably will if he doesn’t it’ll be the first time in long time thst either party didn’t do 8 years before swapping.

My favorite one is where he says “ I’m joe Biden and I’m running for senate” what year does he think it is.?
And it’s my understanding that happens to people with alzheimers .They slip through time and memories. Like mistaking their kids for their spouse( cause they think their back when they were young)
I truely think the democrat plan is to have him win and resign. They try to control what he says and does but like a person with alzheimers he doesn’t always let them.
