Unfortunately there are tens of Millions of Americans with red hat mentalities and they’re not going away instantly the moment trump is gone/in jail or whatever. There’s no easy fix to this mess. Those people are going to continue causing problems for quite some time to come.

Apparently this was all supposed to happen today and no one showed up in all 50 states. I wonder if it was because of all the arrests that happened and people losing their jobs so they were all too scared to go thinking this will be them. Good, let them be scared.

There are still hundreds hiding after the first storming. We can help the FBI by finding their photos and distributing them online so they face the justice system. Remember most were wearing "blue lives matter" and "blue line" logos so its ironic they now want to hide from the police.

Terrorists like soft targets. Having breached the Oregon and Michigan state capitals and apparently having inside help they knew there would be minimal consequences on 1/6. Obviously, the bluster and posturing from the Proud Boys, 3 Percenter, Qanon, Oathkeeper crowd etc. didn't translate into a desire to go head to head with 20,000 National Guardsmen in DC (and even more at the State level).

I'm guessing the vast majority of the would-be MAGA insurrectionists know this (too) is a lost cause… but a small core group of fanatics will likely be a real headache for law enforcement for years to come… the ideological similarities between the MAGA crowd and Timothy McVeigh cannot be ignored.
