Wicca is not 100% authentic, either. Like every major religion, it's woven into history and can't exist in a vaccuum. What sense does it make to guilt-trip a modern-day Christian with horrible things done to witches centuries ago? Pretty lame. It's in the same category of lameness as blaming modern-day Jews for the death of Christ.

During the Burning Times, how many of those people actually belonged to your religion and how many were just burned purely for spite?

As a Christian I certainly don't condone or defend the sins of the Church, past or present. Human beings inevitably fall short of the standard God sets for us. It's to be expected, pretty much, that the highest clergy fall prey to earthly vices. And others are just evil. The frock is and will continue to be excellent camouflage.

I happen top know how eclectic your religion is, and from how many other things it borrows. This is not. IMO, reprensible. Just don't accuse other religions of being unoriginal.

Arguably Wicca and paganism is about intuitively combining the good ideas of all the current religions, to create a new truth. A living growing faith, unbound to the dogmas of yester-year, while still retaining its roots to its past incarnations.

And yeah, Christianity did steal Christmas and Easter. Where do you think the christmas tree and easter egg traditions came from?

Actually, God says they're about serving and worshipping Satan.
And they are, even when "Satan" isn't named.

Huh, so I guess everyone who celebrates christmas with a tree, and every kid who goes easter egg hunting, is going to hell. After all, they are observing pagan rituals.

You know, you'd think that the things that would be consider virtous would actually involve, you know, virtue. Helping people and stuff. But I guess Gandhi when to hell, despite the whole behaving exactly like Jesus thing.

 Not even remotely the same thing! Those who use Christmas trees and hunt for Easter eggs are practicing pagan things in ignorance, but their heart's intent is toward God.

1 Samuel 16:7 says that "for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."

Good works are vituous, but Salvation does not come by works. (Ever heard of Martin Luther?)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

O RLY?

"God" says? Does 'God' say this him/herself, or in some book written by humans?

Methinks Rags has Schizotypal Personality Disorder, stereotypical arrogant kook that thinks god talks to him. He needs some anti-psychotics.

You're playing the shrink now, are you? Maybe we shouldn't diagnose each other here on WP.

Ha! You'd like that, wouldn't you?

I'm on good terms with you as soon as I stop speaking the truth to those who need it.

What good would I do in an abbey?
"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." (Luke 5:32)
