Proof of God
Crap. Guess I'm back to the drawing board.
Orwell is just being ridiculous. As Voltaire said: "A witty saying proves EVERYTHING."
Even if a witty saying were proof of anything (and hopefully everyone here knows that this is not the actual Voltaire quote) the key word there would be "witty."

You're pretty condescending, and have a rather excessive air of self-righteousness. The tone you take is more offensive than an offhand insult or two.
If you did not want to convince anyone, you would not be arguing. Mr. Bruggencate, we are not stupid on this forum, so posting obviously false statements like this will get you called out and mocked by the general posting group here if you do it repeatedly.
I would be leary of an aoplogetic that the unbeliever takes as heart-warming.
So to be an apologetic you have to act like a complete jerk to people who don't already agree with you? Not exactly an effective way of spreading the Gospel.

"Witty" is not easy to achieve. But a good deal of the posts seem to try hard and manage to get half way there.
Well, the site has been up over 2 years, and this is what I ask in the "help with this site section" I want this site to 'give a reason for the hope that I have,' with kindness and humility. Please let me now if you sense any aberration from that goal.
I have not yet had an e-mail that says what you are saying, but if you find an area of the site where I do this, please let me know and I'll have a look.
No, I am here to do as I am commanded "Cast down vain reasoning." I am not commanded to convince anyone of anything.
Like I say, show me how and where you do it the right way.

I'm not your volunteer editor, and besides, asking an autistic to correct your tact is a bit ironic. If you are incapable of seeing where you have been insulting and condescending, then you have even less theory of mind than the typical autist, which is pretty bad for the neurotypical you claim to be.
Now you're just being stupid. I don't know why I bother to try to argue with duckspeakers like you, it always ends in frustration when you just keep repeating the same tired old point as though it were still valid after being refuted.
I don't evangelize. But if I were to do so, one big secret would be to try not to act like a douche bag. At least with the manner in which I generally conduct myself, some avowed atheists have had to acknowledge that Christians aren't all bad, and may have become a bit more open-minded as a result.
EDITED for misattributed quotes... Sand, you may want to do the same to your post.

Sorry about the "quote" indication. I still haven't figured out how to indicate a close quote indication.
"all bad" like "all good" requires an extraordinary human effort. Christians, like most other people, simply are not capable of that. One must give them credit for trying.
I'm not. I'm saying that I disagree with you,and so do many people who e-mail me. Plus, of the thousands of visitors to my site, I have never had a Christian e-mail me who agrees with you. If you, however, feel that I have been condescending, I ask you to show me where, and I will look at it.
Problem is, you might just be the type of person who wants to edit the Bible where it says: "The fool has said in his heart, "there is no God," cause you feel it's condescending.
It is easy to be critical, but not so easy to be helpful.

You almost had it this
opens the quote and this
closes it.
(I turned off the quote feature so you could see the actual symbols used)

Thanks. Education comes slowly but it's always a pleasure when it works.

We each have individual standards of accepting reality and most of us are probably pragmatic about it. All the indications I have seen have clearly indicated to me that there is no god necessary to keep the machinery of the universe in operation and the moral content of all religions that I have investigated derives from purely human traditions and the basic necessities of decent human existence. I do not want to either argue with you or try to convince you of my outlook but merely indicate where I live.
Problem is, you might just be the type of person who wants to edit the Bible where it says: "The fool has said in his heart, "there is no God," cause you feel it's condescending.

As I said, I don't feel like going through your website and pointing out condescending statements to you. As a number of them fairly obviously are deliberately condescending, I find it hard to believe that you are entirely unaware of that tendency. And not everyone who disagrees with you would e-mail you. I did not e-mail you. Most would just roll their eyes and leave the page.
And no, I am not the type of person you describe. You misunderstand my point, perhaps deliberately as you do to a number of the people on your "Negative feedback" page. In any case, putting your web page on the same level as the Word of God is rather arrogant.

SyeTenB,
Some problems I find with your argumentation are:
* You confuse moral laws with natural laws. They are not of the same nature, and are hardly universal. Moral laws are prescriptive; they are expressions of how we wish things were. They are ideals to be aimed at. You can choose whether or not you follow them, and their applicability is contingent. (For example, child molestation is only "wrong" within a species where a) sexual intercourse is possible, b) its cultural history has added layers of meaning to the sexual act, c) the offspring is born defenseless and can't fend by itself, d) there is a sense of privacy and personal dignity.) On the other hand, natural laws are descriptive; they merely state what plainly is. They correspond to facts. You follow them, like it or not, and their applicability is constant, albeit within well-defined frames. (For example, the equations of general relativity aren't useful for studying quantum scenarios.)
* You assume that Christianism has a monopoly on goodness, and that any atheist who talks ethics must borrow such concepts from Christianism. Simply wrong. People have been discussing right and wrong since before the name of Moses was known.
* You seem to assert that disbelief in the Christian god is not possible. Indeed, not only is it possible; it is the only tenable position in the absence of evidence pointing toward him. This universe behaves exactly as we would expect if no god existed.
* Your god is not the only possible source of logic. Logic is humankind's way of trying to make sense of a universe that appears consistent. Besides, a unique source of logic might exist yet not be your god.
* And the common flaw of all Christian varieties: the hopeless flaws, inconsistencies, absurdities and fallacies found in the Bible. No consistent system of beliefs can be based on such a terribly defective book.
I'm not. I'm saying that I disagree with you,and so do many people who e-mail me. Plus, of the thousands of visitors to my site, I have never had a Christian e-mail me who agrees with you. If you, however, feel that I have been condescending, I ask you to show me where, and I will look at it.

Arligh SyeTenB, LISTEN UP:
The Bible is a BOOK. I could write a book that says the Earth is flat, the Moon is made of green cheese, and that I can fly like a bat at night simply by utter the words Abra Cadabra and does that make it TRUE? I DONT THING SO! That being said,
your quoting the bible does NOTHING to convince me that what you say about God and jebus is actually true. It only reaffirms my conclusion that you're gullible and easily be manipulated. If you want to convince us that this stuff you're preaching is not utter nonsense you'll have to get God to come down here are speak to us directly.
