Anti-miscegenation laws have nothing to do with it (and said laws are stupid, pointless, and reprehensible, and possibly even against what is best genetically). Someone with the same views could have originated anywhere. As kxmode said--it's ALL down to character; where your ancestors come from has no bearing on it whatsoever. Neither positive nor negative decisions should be made on a racial basis; when people let irrelevant factors like that get in the way, the result is almost always bad both morally AND in terms of being counterproductive/destructive from a market standpoint. Voting against Obama on race grounds is ignorant. So is voting FOR him on race grounds. I support neither approach. Same with Palin and gender.

But such laws are very conservative. And, I disagree with you: if Hawaii had had anti-miscegenation laws in place, the Barack Hussein Obama would not be our president today. It is possible that we would now be suffering under Hilary Clinton's brand of totalitarianism, but not Barack Hussein Obama's.

Although, I agree, the conservative label has become considerably more liberal as a result of the radical 1960s.

Actually, since women's suffrage (and our suffering), it is always the more handsome candidate who wins the presidency. Back in the 19th century, when men didn't have to worry about the women's vote, a lot of presidents had quite unkempt hair styles. But, as a fluke, we also had a few democratic presidents.

Segregation
Although BJU admitted Asians and other minorities from its inception, it did not enroll black students until 1971, eight years after the University of South Carolina and Clemson University had been integrated by court order. From 1971 to 1975, BJU admitted only married blacks, although the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had already determined in 1970 that "private schools with racially discriminatory admissions policies" were not entitled to federal tax exemption. Late in 1971, BJU filed suit to prevent the IRS from taking its tax exemption, but in 1974, in Bob Jones University v. Simon, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the University did not have standing to sue until the IRS actually assessed taxes. Four months later, on May 29, 1975, the University Board of Trustees authorized a change in policy to admit "students of any race," a move that occurred shortly before the announcement of the Supreme Court decision in Runyon v. McCrary (427 U.S. 160 [1976]), which prohibited racial exclusion in private schools.[92]

In May 1975, as it prepared to allow unmarried blacks to enroll, BJU adopted more detailed rules prohibiting interracial dating and marriage—threatening expulsion for any student who dated or married interracially, who advocated interracial marriage, who was "affiliated with any group or organization which holds as one of its goals or advocates interracial marriage," or "who espouse, promote, or encourage others to violate the University's dating rules and regulations." ....

The school appealed the IRS decision all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing that the University met all other criteria for tax-exempt status and that the school's racial discrimination was based on sincerely held religious beliefs, that "God intended segregation of the races and that the Scriptures forbid interracial marriage."

...In November 2008, the University declared itself "profoundly sorry" for having allowed "institutional policies to remain in place that were racially hurtful."

So, what is going on? Has liberalism so weakened the moral fabric of our nation, that there are no real conservatives left any more? If they were really conservative, then they certainly wouldn't repent of their conservatism.

In the above clip, one of the things that conservatives felt so abhorrent about blacks being in power during the Reconstruction era in the South was the very liberal outlook that Blacks and Whites should be permitted to inter-marry.

no, in my world, hitler is taking a pineapple up the butt pipe, as in the movie little nicky. he was a vile terrible excuse for a human being, and he is the ONE exception i would make to abortion.

Of course, in the power vacuum, we cannot guarantee that someone with the exact same sort of platform would not have come into power. And there is no scientific basis to suggest that someone of mixed race is any more or less likely to develop the charisma, aptitudes, and political attitudes, AND be in the right place at the right time, to fill that particular spot.

Unless one speaks very narrowly of VERY particular genetic conditions endemic to certain groups, there is nothing that one race has over the other. Even culture is something that each individual must make a decision about--and what I am in support of is individual responsibility, which is a construct that race must not and should not have any bearing upon. If you succeed, or you screw up, it is absolutely on you and your decisions--race is never an excuse either positive or negative.

Most of the time there really isn't a "choice." That's the first time I've ever heard of a student getting three days to "think about it."

Just for clarification, they're obviously doing certain things a certain way because they know it's televised. For example, it's extremely rare for students and faculty to be alone in the same room. The only reason the door was closed was because of the camera since a lot of people would have been offended to actually witness a paddling. Also, there is typically at least one other faculty there to witness the paddling to be sure that nothing horribly abusive is happening.

That school seems to be a more upscale environment than the typical southern public school environment. The last time I taught in a public school, I had a lot of the bigger, athlete types get up in my face trying to intimidate me, just to see what I'd do. But also, a lot of the kids I taught had really tough home and street lives, too. For a lot of them, the only communication they understand is tough talk and physical punishment. It doesn't make for a great learning environment, and after a while the kids start to look at getting a paddling more as sport. You learn to pick your battles carefully and find creative ways to get to them.

It's interesting to me that she opted in favor of the paddling. In tougher circumstances, it loses its effectiveness. It's obvious that school in the video doesn't really have that many "real" problems if paddling is an "option" and the student has three days to "think about it," all due to excessive tardiness!

Just realized how vague this would be for someone other than me: I'm making fun of the concept of race. The idea that any one group could be considered greedier than another and how people confuse the concept of religion with the concept of race.

We need to ban The Simpsons and South Park: two vile television shows that are responsible for cultural degradation and increasing liberal thought in America.

We need to discourage the study of foreign languages and foreign travel. We all know what happens when people travel to Europe.

Television, radio and the internet need to be controlled so as to present only wholesome entertainment and news from a conservative perspective--we've had enough of news-casts being "objective"--the slant is anything but conservative.

Granted, there is money to be made by selling South Park plush dolls and t-shirts to the peasants. But, think of how we are degrading their morals and liberalizing their values. It is just ghastly and not worth it. There are certainly other opiates that we can sell to the masses, without making liberals out of them.

Some of my stances:
1. Do away with abortion except for most extreme circumstances (life or death situation for mother and if there is a way one can save both do that instead of abortion).

2. Actually have history taught in school again, stop trying to make children hate this country or feel embarassed to be an American.

3. Stop the FCC from trying to go after radio stations/television channels/etc. for their political leanings.

4. Defund NPR and PBS (you shouldn't be pushing political agendas using taxpayer money).

5. Enforce the borders, kick out criminal aliens, illegal aliens already here have to leave country and then apply to migrate in using the legal methods. Immigrants that came here legally are not affected by this.

6. English official language of United States, I don't care if people know more than one language, but if people want to come here they should be courteous enough to learn how to speak English instead of expecting all of us to learn their language.

7. Repeal Obamacare and replace it with something that makes sense.

8. Continue to support Israel and say the Palestinian need to acknowledge Israel's right to exist and give up violence then we can negotiate borders for a Palestinian state.

9. Encourage an increase in trees being planted along highways.

10. Balance the budget and start pushing for a Constitutional Amendment that requires the budget be balanced.
