No, he must have continued reigning for three terms for you to harp about him.

Therefore you find no fault with his regime? And, of course, your perceptive level remains constant. If you were even slightly aware you would understand that Bush's policies are still very much in force.

Yeah, so what if Bush's policy are still in force. There have been two years worth of time for Mr. Peace Prize For Nothing to alter them.

Obama is not a Republican, so why should he carry on with the same practices? Shouldn't he fulfill all his campaign promises? Shouldn't he carry out his word? Are you happy to see someone who knew how to make promises out of catch phrases and hot air, Obama, be elected? Isn't it lovely that you continue to blame Bush for something that another person could have changed for half of his term? You pick and choose, and you have the freedom to do so.

Because he's a puppet. The rhetoric changes, the cosmetic policies change, but the core principles and structures won't unless there's to be a shift.

What kind of a shift? A general crossing the Rubicon with a single legion? Or would that rather be a Ctrl+Alt+Del? :P

Oh please...

People are trusted daily with 2,000 pound metal objects that kill easily (cars), liquids than can kill a man with a bottle (vodka), devices that can cause untold destruction (matches)...

The world is chaotic by nature. Gun prohibition is just another attempt to deny that reality

And the result of that trust is over 40,000 deaths per year. Are you interested in a competition of how many deaths can be caused by idiots who cannot control the power given?

I wish there was some way to embed this into the post.

Here is a real time clock/calculator that shows how many people die from the most common causes of death, firearm homicide, and incidents of firearm being used in self defense (even if it was not discharged).

The difference is that the function of these objects, such as cars, is that they are designed to serve a purpose different than killing or causing serious harm, guns on the other hand have that particular use.

Sometimes killing is a necessary use, even if nobody actually wants that to come to pass.

Do you accept the correctness of self defense or defense of your family or defense of your property?

The environment has been "vandalized" long before Dubya. Take a look at the Blue Ridge Mountains as it now is. At the turn of the century nearly every tree was harvests (i.e. chopped down). The regrowth of the Blue Ridge mountains and the Shenendoah Valley was undertaken under the FDR Administritation. The place was made into a National Park so no large scale lumber harvesting operations have been undertaken again. It has mostly grown back. "Vandalizing" the environment goes all the way back to 1620 when the English puritans landed.

And the clear logic out of that is that a vicious stupid past justifies a vicious stupid present.
