Uh... taxes.
The right thinks the rich shouldn't be taxed because they're the job creators, while they believe that the poor should be punished for "leaching" off the country.

-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer

I've never heard anyone (on the left or the right) calling for the punishment of the poor. What method of punishment have you heard people calling for?

Again, taxation. It's in fact been discussed on Fox, as well as by Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann. Taxing people who have is one thing, but to tax people who are without, now that is definitely punishment.

-Bill, otherwise known as Kraichgauer

So, according to you, taxing the rich is just, but taxing the poor is punishment?

Yes, because the rich won't be hurt by being taxed a bit, but it would be catastrophic for the poor.

That's not what they are saying, again if you are going to make claims, I strongly suggest you actually watch the debates from start to finish, rather than relying on a talking head's commentary.

Then enlighten me, please. What did they really say... during the debate? Because I suspect what they say in one setting isn't the same that they'll say in another.

I need to know when they supposedly said what you're claiming they said so I know which debate I'm looking for.

It wasn't during a debate, but rather on the campaign trail. Both while before sympathetic crowds had said how it was only fair how the poor and middle class should pay income tax, since they benefit from the taxation of the rich.

Some businesses have been fined for hiring American Citizens, as I have been pointing out. The problem is there are too many regulations and Obama is bypassing congress to create even more regulations that are choking the life out of businesses.

Some American corporations are taking the money (some of which if from subsidies) and investing it in parts of the world where labor is cheap. So the bailout has created jobs. But not necessarily in the United States.

You yourself said "some businesses" are penalized for hiring people; but I can't believe that that's common by any means. And no one can tell me that Obama isn't concerned about Americans being out of work.

I think it is more common than you think. Small businesses get thrown into another tax situation thanks to Obamacare if they have more than X number of employees, so some small businesses are having to lay people off due to Obamacare.

As I understood small business owners who support Obama, they feel that this will take the burden of insuring employees off of them.
How is this going to be detrimental to them?

Well I guess they thought wrong, but then considering the Democrats rushed the bill through without reading it, looks like there are a lot of "unintended" consequences.

In fact, what distinguishes the Wellpoint study is its detailed rigor. Take Ohio, where a young, healthy 25-year-old living in Columbus can purchase insurance from WellPoint today for about $52 per month in the individual market. WellPoint's actuaries calculate the bill will rise to $79 because Democrats are going to require it to issue policies to anyone who applies, even if they've waited until they're sick to buy insurance. Then they'll also require the company to charge everyone nearly the same rate, bringing the premium to $134. Add in an extra $17, since Democrats will require higher benefit levels, and a share of the new health industry taxes ($6), and monthly premiums have risen to $157, a 199% boost.

Meanwhile, a 40-year-old husband and wife with two kids would see their premiums jump by 122%—to $737 from $332—while a small business with eight employees in Franklin County would see premiums climb by 86%. It's true that the family or the individual might qualify for subsidies if their incomes are low enough, but the business wouldn't qualify under the Senate Finance bill WellPoint examined. And even if there are subsidies, the new costs the bill creates don't vaporize. They're merely transferred to taxpayers nationwide—or financed with deficits, which will be financed eventually with higher taxes.

And when medical costs go up as they surely will, medical services will be rationed.

Are you happy about that?
