Inuyasha, please stop mangling the poor abused ellipse. In case you've never heard the term, the ellipse is three dots in a row, like this - ... - and it's an actual part of grammar with defined uses.

Ellipses are appropriate in these cases:

1. To indicate a trailing off in dialogue, such as, "Well, I dunno..."

2. Again in dialogue, to indicate a long pause for some reason. For example, I might narrate a person who is wheezing heavily with ellipses like, "I am...sorry...my lungs...are not...the best."

3. When quoting, to indicate a portion of the quote that has been left out for any reason. For example, in your last post if I wanted to quote only the part about Jimmy Carter, it would be properly written as, "[...]you were a Jimmy Carther supporter."

Any other use of the ellipse is incorrect and also annoying as all hell. Stop it.

Offhand I was thinking you were some hippy from the 1960s... Anyways, I'm not surprised your parents supported Carter...

My Grandmother always voted Democrat up until the election of 1980, Ronald Reagan was the first Republican she ever voted for. He's also the only Republican she voted for both in 1980 and 1984.

this thread could be used to write a paper or two on the subject of observer bias.

anyone that takes politics this seriously havent understood just how flawed the system is in itself, it isnt a thing to focus your life around, you have your politics because of the life you live outside of it.
perhaps that is why the ideal politician doesnt exist, those that do have a life and as such a sane aproach to politics also has a conflict of interest, in part this is what we elect officials for, in part their downfall.
for the career politicians it is another matter, it becomes their life and they loose the perspective that is most important to any politician, what would actually help his constituents, they simply lack the day to day connection with normal society.

Ideal politician is generally an oxymoron, cause in order to be good at politics one must generally be a good liar and get people to believe one's lies.

the ideal politician wouldnt need to lie in the first place.

one might be get successfull in the sense of personal accomplishment when lying but rarely will one get actual success considering the function of a politician.

I was born in 1966! I would have been a little young to have been a hippy back then. No, my Dad had been a union man his whole working life, and his Dad had been a member of the colorfully radical Industrial Workers of the World (otherwise known as the IWW, or the Wobblies), and so it rubbed off on me. My Mom's parents had been Republicans, but she had chosen to vote Democratic.

In your case, who'd notice, cause you're already brainwashed...

Seriously, listen to Limbaugh, do your own research and start connecting the dots. Right now the fact you've never listened to Limbaugh for yourself but take other people's statements for granted, actually demonstrates that you may actually be brainwashed Kraichgauer.

I had to put up with NPR while I was out near DC for 2 months, because that's what the shuttle bus driver liked listening to. I didn't become more liberal after listening to NPR for 2 months, in fact I became more Conservative.

Here is a book that I can recommend, to the non-brainwashed

Inuyasha-

The media just didn't attack Romney out of the blue on the 9/11 anniversary (if you really want to call it "attacking" him - reporting is more like it). It was because he had attacked the President for a statement issued nine hours prior to the death of the ambassador - when Romney had earlier promised he'd lay off of politics for the day. If anything, Romney had taken a cheap shot at President Obama for the sake of political gain, by using the death of a good man appointed by the President.

Well thank you for proving you have no idea what you are talking about.

Romney reacted to a series of statements from the US Embassy in Egypt, where they issued a statement sympathizing with the radicals...

Romney waited approximately 16 hours after that intial apology tour by our embassy, then he condemned the statements, and rightfully so.

The Obama camp hadn't bothered to respond to what was going on and let those inexcusable comments stand until after Romney had responded.

At the time Romney's comments had nothing to do with Libya because he had no knowledge that our Ambassador to Libya had been killed or that anything else was going on in Libya (the White House hadn't bothered to provide Romney with the daily intelligence briefings (which Obama hadn't read anyways)).

The real story should have been why the hell hadn't security been beefed up for 9/11/2012 in the first place. Now it has also come out that we had warning about these threats a few days prior to the attack, we also had knowledge about the protests in Egypt in advance.

Kraichgauer, the sad thing is I'm not surprised about your lack of knowledge as to what actually happened.

Romney has absolutely nothing to apologize for, if anyone was being irresponsible it was Obama for deciding to do his Vegas while all of this was going on instead of doing his damn job.

I remember when you bitched and moaned about "the left" politicizing the Gabrila Giffard shooting. Now I'm going to be rather blunt here (as you like to say of course), why don't you shut your pie hole and stop trying to use the tragedy of a dead ambassador to score cheap political points against the President. You should be ashamed of yourself. Now go sit in the time-out chair.

It also gets annoying arguing with someone who stays on topic about as well as Mel Gibson walks a straight line after being pulled over drunk.
