Hamas is an obstacle but it represents only one arm of the Palestinian authority and they certainly don't represent all Palestinians.

(Sigh) I thought we were talking about the Israeli government's human rights abuses, not directing our bile against all Jews. Or at least, not all of us are.

Replace Arabs with 'Jews', Israelis with 'goyim' and 'the meditteranean sea' with 'crippling debt'.

When terms become interchangeable with stereotypes thats a pretty good benchmark for racism.

Weak.
Very weak, but go ahead and call it racism anyway for all I care.

Please read this part and this part.

The rationale is that if the bombs had not been used, Japan would not have been intimidated into surrender and millions of Japanese civilians would have died in conventional warfare. Given the two choices which one would you choose, the one which leads to a couple hundred thousand civilian deaths or the one that leads to millions? The army had their analysts, they could estimate the number of casualties. It may not have been a perfect estimate but even the smaller estimates were quite horrible. What else could have been done?
Yes it is horrible how Japanese Americans were treated during the war.

As I recall, most Jews who moved to Israel have only a small percentage on the original Jewish ancestry (Israeli Jews 2000 years ago.) Most of their ancestor are from the land the Jews were living in. I.e. most of their ancestors were locals (in Europe they were Europeans) who converted to Judaism. That is why European Jews look European and not Middle Eastern. Besides, DNA is irrelevant. There have been many migrations in human history. We cannot redistribute land based on the DNA of people who lived there thousands of years ago. What is done is done, but now we have a different morality and should seek to live in harmony rather than continue with land grabbing (like Zionists). Let ancient history be studied in schools rather than be used for politics.

And if anyone converted to Judaism, could they move there? That seems stupid,if I become Catholic, can I go squat in Rome? They should have to prove by DNA that their families were from that region.
Since my ancestors were from Ulster I guess I should be able to go over there and take over Thomas81's house.I will get the bigger section and move my family in.Thomas will have to go through a checkpoint to use his bathroom. He will have to show ID to even get in the house, and be frisked. Then I'll go out in the yard and cut down his fruit trees.

They don't kill Palestinian civilians in retaliation intentionally (it occasionally happens that civilians get caught in the crossfire - but have you seen how obscenely difficult it is to avoid that happening in a place like Gaza? The Israeli forces frequently call off attacks if there are innocents that could be harmed). In the vast majority of cases, they get their men. And they are terrorists.

Well perhaps they should quit bombing Gaza being is such a small area with lots of civilians...anyways I think I will look up how the israeli and palestinian death tolls compare.

Alright I do see some rationale....lol my idea would have been to maybe provide some kind of warning to the civilians or something so maybe some would have had a chance to evacuate or something...wont go into the details I am thinking as to how that could have been put into action as I feel its very hypothetical and might derail this thread.

Its also fair fetched because as I pointed out look how the U.S treated japanese americans during that time, so they would not have bothered with such a thing. Also due to that not so sure I'm convinced the bombs where dropped in an attemt to kill less Japanese then other methods would have killed.

I am not sure why they were dropped but they very likely did result in much fewer civilian casualties than if they had not been used. I am sure wanting to save American soldiers also had something to do with it. Regardless of why it was done, if one had to choose allover again I think it would likely be the least horrible of the horrible choices (though still pretty horrible). It was a pretty nasty war. I agree with not derailing the thread :)

Does this justify killing Palestinian civilians in retaliation?

It justifies the state or warfare that exists now and no one really likes it but that's reality. Reality is just reality and people are not coming to terms with it.

A lot of people will speak critically of the Jews and portray the Palestinians as innocent victims but they offer no reasonable ideas and they do nothing to help the situation. Posting on this thread accomplishes nothing. If you really care you will go get directly involved in the peace process and you will promote solutions that will bring peace, not wars.
