I have no doubt Bill could/would substitute "Palestinians" for "Israelis" in another context...
He is one of the good guys...

As Desmond Tutu said "those neutral in times of injustice are on the side of the oppressor". If an Israeli carries out a sick act it's "well they just happened to be Israeli", but not the same sentiment when an act is carried out by one of the million times weaker Palestinians.

When a Palestinian does something it's terrorism. When the Israelis carry out the terrorism it's 'well Hamas shouldn't fire rockets'.

Like an Israeli soldier said after the 2008/9 massacre "it was like burning up ants with a magnifying glass". Anyone who thinks that's a situation to be neutral in has a lot to answer for.

My premise/position is that both parties are human with human frailties...

People are petrified of criticising Israel. That's down to decades of propaganda. The US gives Israel $10 million a day so they can't have people being against that country.

Just out of curiosity, going back through the history of the conflict, at what point do you believe Israelis became the aggressors and what do you think could have been done differently early on to prevent the conflict?

They became the aggressors before the state of Israel was created. They were blowing up British people in hotels in the 40's and even blow up a boat full of Holocaust surviving Jewish refugees. It didn't stop there. The real turning point was in 1967 when Israeli Generals like Matti Peled turned on the state after it stole land when they won the war. Israel also bombed a US intelligence ship for over two hours.

The US have a lot to answer for. The only President that tried to reign Israel in was JFK.

I simply resent the political correctness card that is so often played at the expense of freedom of observation...

There isn't really a "the jewish community", there are many different jewish communities.
