I just tried to ask a simple question, that still you or anyone else has failed to answer. Well no, most of them were christians, but the other were aspie Americans, so your bound not to understand me. How is it nonsense? Its a pretty good point I think, and I know other people who think the same, and they say its the one question christians can't answer. You were just as much to blame for what broke out.

I did answer your question, but you ignored that part. For the record, I'll answer it again: most Christians do not take a literalist approach to interpreting Genesis. It is seen as allegorical rather than historical, so the timeline isn't relevant.

The Bible is allegorical?

What sort of lessons are we supposed to take from the Old Testament then?

It's okay to murder those who do not believe in your god (Caananites)?

It's okay to murder homosexuals (Sodom and Gomorrah)?

Um... I think the standard response for allegory ends up being more along the lines of the broader theological points(such as some of those found in Isaiah about God's nature and relation to man), as I don't think that Christians take either of those positions of murder seriously, nor is Sodom and Gomorrah necessarily an attack against homosexuality anyway.

The Bible isn't entirely allegorical. But rarely is it straightfoward or without room for multiple readings.

Which, of course, very heavily affirms that language is a very sloppy medium.

Right on! Beat the s**t out of them! The Christian church never quailed at torture when it could get away with it.

Me? I never advocated beating anybody up. It was you who suggested it. In a gentle Christian way, of course.

"Aspies are the MasterRace! Zeig Hiel!"
