Go check out any old cemetary, there will be lots of little headstones marking where children died of illnesses that are now prevented by vaccines.
I'm against unnecessary vaccines - the flu shot is a hit or miss and best left alone. Natural immunity would work best for that and the pneumonia vaccine - they came out with another vaccine so pneumonia has two. Shingles has a vaccine now. Give me a break with all of this crap. Then they don't have any control over TB. We as nurses used to have to get tested every 2 yrs and now no tests unless we come into contact with a TB patient - then it's too late. Now TB is getting out of hand and coming back again. A lot of illegals are also not being vaccinated. A form of polio is coming back. They are not controlling the important stuff.
Here's an article from a source you read - natural immunity is better in some cases.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =130433634I'm on the fence on new vaccines.I don't get a flu shot becuse I'm rarely around people(besides my adult kids)and hand sanitize like crazy.
But with small children I can see a need, they don't have good hygiene practices and spread germs like crazy. One sick kid infects the whole class. My kids got the usual baby vaccines but none of the new stuff. If they want to receive them as an adult, that's on them.
On a very sad note,a family we know lost a son to the flu on Christmas Day.He was late teens,a healthy boy,non smoker.non druggie. But he got sick that morning and died that evening in the hospital, was full, sick on cots in the hallway. Both my kids caught it survived.I took care of them and never caught it.The flu is weird,I don't think a shot is the answer.I blame the spread of the flu on dippers that spit germs everywhere.During TB epidemics that told people not to spit,it's nasty.
