I cringed when I read this part. Mostly because I know it's right.

That seems unlikely. The worst case scenario is probably that we'll go the route of Britain: no longer dominate the world, but still be a relatively major power.

Can't help but think it's massively different and we'll end up more like the 1980s USSR/Russia or worse.

/as the Europeans laugh at the idea that I'm saying "will end up"

That might not be so bad. Calvin Coolidge once said: The business of America is business. Maybe we should get back to business and let some other unfortunate nation play Superpower.

But business has no nation. When it can find cheap labor, other markets, available resources it follows them. The USA has no way to tie down it's business and it's citizens are left to serve each other hamburgers and cutting each other's hair.

Yeah...we're not exactly leading the way in science (all the recent scientific discoveries I've read about have come from Europe or Asia) and our main industries seem to be (poor) banking and entertainment.

Finland isn't worth any missiles. There are too many Russians shopping here.

The Chinese state sickens me. If I ever get the opportunity, I will do all in my power to bring them. I want the Chinese people to assert their independance.

Just as a matter of interest, what is all this power you're going to exert?

Hmm... my big mouth? I don't have much else, unfortunately.

Okay, how about forcing the one child rule on everyone else. That seems more likely than a genocide.

Ronatvan can be trusted - but only to look at the world with a distorted perspective.

Of course China wants to be a world leader. They want to be prosperous, they want to be strong. They are nationalists. They are not that different from the US, the former Soviet Union, colonial Europe, etc.
