Not to hijack this thread but this is something I've actually been wondering about recently. Why is fascism considered an extreme right philosophy? The way I understand it, it seems a lot closer to the extreme left. Maybe I have too modern and American view of what "the right" is.
Not sure, I think it has to do with the style of government rule. Historically, there have been a lot of despots, so that would be considered a conservative government style since it's been tried more often. Something completely new and out-of-the-blue, like communism, would be considered more liberal since it's a new style.
