I have met political refugees from the Iranian regime, people whove been intensively tortured over long periods and had many family members killed.

Just saying the wrong thing in public can get you abducted then dumped dead in the desert. Which might be a better fate than a long prison stretch to be the plaything of depraved sadists. Every few years a student protest kicks off and the militia randomly drag people away screaming, never to be seen again. Under Sharia law, high profile dissidents ie. journalists are sentenced to death officially. Even a canadian was killed in police custody a few years back.

Anyone who attempts to start a revolution in Iran risks not only their own lives, but maybe their families too - and in such a horrific way that doesnt bear thinking about. I know i could not do it. Anyone can be an armchair revolutionary...

If China and Russia are thinking sensibly, and they have reason two then a joint force will result.
The US is too strategically divided in Iraq to have another major war on the country's hands.

China has a force of about 2 million units, I am thinking way more.
Russia has a very large military budget.
If the security council give the go-ahead, then there will not be much of a nuclear weapons problem.

However, by attacking a nation with nuclear arms the civilians should be prepared for major casualities.
Besides, I don't think Iran would be going against Russia or Chinese interests.
The leader doesn't seem to be that much of a nutcase.

As for North Korea, it is tied with China.

If Iran attempts to launch a nuclear strike against Israel, then there will be a nuclear war. Russia and China will not allow that.

I say wait and see for the security councils decision. Remember, alot of countries want this matter solved in the correct way. In the end, this will probably be another paranoia.

Well I should have said more depth (more words). To me it is like Iraq, innocents on the ground not wanting to get involved with it. As well as nuke talk..

Something was wrong about the whole Iraq war anyways. The Iran issue seems to be much bigger and more complicated. The internet is not a good way to understand all this, to much opinion and not enough listed facts.
