Supposedly, 2/3 of the population is under 40 and is pro-western. If these people can't understand that their future is in jeporady if they don't do something about their leaders RIGHT NOW, then they deserve whatever happens to them.
I have met political refugees from the Iranian regime, people whove been intensively tortured over long periods and had many family members killed.
Just saying the wrong thing in public can get you abducted then dumped dead in the desert. Which might be a better fate than a long prison stretch to be the plaything of depraved sadists. Every few years a student protest kicks off and the militia randomly drag people away screaming, never to be seen again. Under Sharia law, high profile dissidents ie. journalists are sentenced to death officially. Even a canadian was killed in police custody a few years back.
Anyone who attempts to start a revolution in Iran risks not only their own lives, but maybe their families too - and in such a horrific way that doesnt bear thinking about. I know i could not do it. Anyone can be an armchair revolutionary...
