I realized that to be able to change a belief, one has to become humbled. Saying wow, is a childlike response. Children are humble and so open to suggestion. The response that would drive someone insane, is reasoning. To try to reason, or make sense of the cosmos is just not in our realm of understanding. To continue to try is a noble, but futile act. Just like the ant trying to understand how a house is made, we are better off not trying to reason everything away. Reasoning is a scientific response. Wonder is a mystical response.

Nothing like total defeatism to encourage ignorance. There's nothing futile about science. It feeds you, it takes you where you want to go, protects you from diseases, it keeps you warm in the winter and cools you in the summer and it give you the voice to declare to the world that science is futile

If you had not posted this, this is just about (word for word) what I would have posted. I really get annoyed when people use a computer to spread the message that science is futile.
