If we have free will to make our own choices, then obviously they can't be made by god, duh

well it is boring really.
since i wrote the script of reality, then i already know what is going to happen, so it is useless for me to stick around and watch the show.

So, you would presume that an omnipotent God would only be able to make choices through humans?

It doesn't. God can have the power to interfere and choose not to exercise that power; God can allow people free will as a favour (a very big one, though probably necessary if God ain't gonna be bored stiff watching them a la Aulë) to them.



And lo verily the LORD saith "instead of just erasing them in a zillionth of a second, which is entirely in MY power as creator of the universe and general omnipotent GUY, I shall use this crappy flood plot device instead that I have cribbethed off the Sumerians. And verily while I am on I shall ensure that the greater part of MY miracles are things which would be easy for a stage magician to counterfeit, for that maketh sense. I shall certainly not paint a pink flourescent dragon on the Moon as token of MY power."

Don't forget the Incas of Peru, the Aztecs and Mayan also, the Australian aborigines, and many other accounts from all over the planet.

Being an omnipotent deity who expects to be loved unconditionally is a hard row to hoe.

I'm guessing it would be quite an easy job. Just do what you want when you want, no one can stop you. You've got followers worshiping you left right and centre, some people hate you but no matter what people's stances are you're still getting undivided attention.

I'd like to be a god.

I think it'd be rather annoying to have people worshiping you all the time...maybe that's just me, I don't know...lol.

I have no idea and furthermore I have no wish to find out.

You could have just asked me. I would have told you that.

I believe in God, but I've often wondered why God doesn't screw with the laws of the universe for his own personal amusement. I mean, if I were God, I'd be tempted to screw with the earth's gravitational pull so people would float into space just because I could and because I would want to see what would happen. But then, I'm sure God isn't juvenile or weird like I am. but hey, if I'm God, I could do anything that struck my fancy! Why not?

It's like customer service except you can kill your customers and blame it on them. You can't get fired. You're also invisible.

Being indirectly omnipotent and relativistically the centre of the universe, I would imagine it would not be too different from how I am now, I'd just have more unanswered prayers directed at me instead of someone else.

Being God, of course, is to be totally inscrutable. Idiots who think they can figure God out are on he level with bumblebees trying to do the New York Times crossword puzzle. The Bible, of course, was written for people who worship anything old written down and gullibility is obviously much more dominant in humans than intelligence. So the statement that God created man in his own image is merely a sop to human vanity. No human ever created a universe nor even made a woman out of a rib bone.

God keeps to him self. He's pretty quiet. He writes a lot, an observer of the world and yet also highly introspective. He sees all the silly and pointless and destructive and nonsensical things that Humans do, and feels confused by the world, but he has extreme difficulty expressing anything. He is standoffish and barely verbal. Everybody loves him when he's handing out free food or money, but when he isn't then suddenly nobody is very keen to be his friend anymore. Anything bad that happens gets blamed on God even when it isn't his fault, and he is too quiet to defend himself. Some people belittle him for the faults they think God has, others are intimidated by him because he seems so stern and serious. God sometimes seems friendly and happy, but has a serious angry side that makes seemingly random appearances, for reasons nobody can fathom. Nobody really knows what's going on with God, because he barely talks and when he does he has a hard time making anybody understand what he's saying. So he writes down all his thoughts into a book, which sadly few will read and fewer will understand.
