You think I believe in the bible? I love pointing out how completely ridiculous it's demands are and how it creates so many contradictions in itself.

God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble - he's not very humble himself
The one unforgivable sin is blasphemy - which Saul was guilty of yet he was forgiven and wrote half the new testament!

the late comedian steve allen[!] wrote a book detailing over 5000 various errors in the bible. needless to say, i have never found it anywhere online or in any bookstore, but i know he wrote it because i saw him being interviewed on tv about it ages ago.

good for you, though I think you'll find that it doesn't really contridict itself: you just don't understand it.

Who says Saul commited blashphemy? He did what he did not because he hated God, but because he thought it was the right thing to do. HUGE difference. besides it says blaspheming THE HOLY SPIRIT is unforgivable. when Saul was still Saul, it's doubtful he even knew what the holy spirit was.

but it isn't harmful and is independent...

...in the same way an internal parasite is independent, but independent nonetheless.

"submit himself"? Does that include sexually?

And I suppose seven days really means seven days.

All Catholics who think condoms, birth control pills, and tube tying should be banned are morons.

All 100-115 million sperm cells? Even if one sperm cell becomes an embryo, the other hundred million end up dying.

Good point. We really should be banning miscarriages. (please note the sarcasm)

No. We don't need anymore unwanted children forced into adoption or foster care because their parents were too stupid to use protection. Besides, the earth is overpopulated as it is. Let some die out first. D:

Dunno, ask some congressional pages.

Celling your soul topic

Spermatozoa, eggs, (fertillized or not) and neurons are examples of cells, building blocks of life, but not life itself. This is elementary biology. A fetus is not viable unitl a minimum of 22 weeks gestation has passed.

Condoms help prevent disease, as well as pregnancy, though pills, vasectomies and tubal ligations only prevent conception.

Rhythm is unreliable as a birth control method (though it worked for my mother, in limiting family size).

No for lots of reasons

Some people cannot take care of a baby or don't want to, condoms prevent disease as well as pregnancy, what about if a woman is raped and gets pregnant? or if someone has a genetic illness they don't want to pass on...,

What would banning those things actually achieve? Nothing.

Are there any actual scientific reasons for banning them? No.

So, should they be banned? Of course not.
