She help push the latest health insurance bill through the House. The provision that requires one to buy government approved health insurance is clearly unconstitutional. Art I Sec 8.

She also voted to make GM mean Government Motors. She help to pass the law that put GM in the hands of the government which has no constitutional business owning a privately owned automobile manufacturing firm.

As I said, she knows Jack Sh*t about the U..S. Constitution.

Are you really dumb enough to consider that a proper response?

Of course she helped to get the health bill passed, she's a democrat. I wouldn't call any republican leader an extremist because he helped to pass a tax cut.

The GM situtation saved our butts. We saved jobs and now it looks like we stand to make some money on the deal as well.

As far as the constitution goes, there's room for some different interpretations and modernization. The republicans also like to claim there's no amendment about separating church and state. Surely you aren't suggesting that we take an historical text and follow it by the letter without regard for societal changes, discoveries, and technological advances. Let's save that approach for the bible beaters.

Why do I get the feeling that this has absolutely nothing to do with Ms. Pelosi's politics, and everything to do with people exercising their "God given right," to snipe at those in power.

I have every confidence that the refrain will be completely unchanged two years from now, when Ms. Pelosis's successor will be subject to the same polemics.

Unemployment was about ten percent before the government took a position in GM. It is about ten percent since the government took a position in GM. So how were our butts saved?

I'll throw in that this also violated Bankrupcy Law and it was done for political purposes to reward contributors like SEIU not to help the country.

Pelosi isn't out to put her opposition into gulags though...
Most Dems cower in face of conservative threats and compromise away their so called socialist agendas.
I have no love for Pelosi since she is a career politician, but I do give her credit as someone who does make things happen, whether people like it or not.

I disagree. America, no matter how flawed, is still currently the bastion of Western civilization. Europe is pretty much going to the gutters.

America is only reason my old country hasn't been occupied up by the Communists, who will rip away every little ounce of liberty we finally achieved for the past decade.

Americans don't want to hear that America is great. We want to hear that America sucks so that we have a reason to sputter hysterically our own individual beliefs, to people we mistakenly think should care, and in words we believe sound erudite or intriguing.

For an example of this, see my previous paragraph.

On that note, I miss Sand. Where is Sand????! !! !! !!

Josef Stalin? Really? You're expecting Stalin to strike a chord with anybody in this day and age? How about instead of "Stalin" you just use the word "Hitler" like everybody else.

What does this mean? Are you defending Stalin or implying that nobody remembers him?

Neither. I'm being antagonistic of Ruveyn's facile one-liner comparing Nancy Pelosi to (of all people) Josef Stalin. Usually when people want to throw out a one-line zinger along those lines, they just use Hitler as an example. In either case, it would have been just as ridiculous.

It is a counter example to the principle that "getting things done..." is necessarily a good thing. It is not always a good thing, as the example clearly shows.

The way one destroys a universally quantified proposition is to provide a single counter-example.

Logic 101.
