Except for a regrettable tendency toward heavy-handed [but often not so received sarcasm], I too. If I ask an explanation I definitely want one.

It is a bad translation from the Hebrew.
It should read: I have claimed you are Gods and you are children of the most high, but you shall die as men do and fall like any prince.
It is an ironic statement, not an assertion of fact.
