^That's the other thing about the conspiracy theory nutters: not only can they extrapolate odd-and-ends connections between people and turn it more nefarious, but they're amazing at completely dismissing anything that may potentially disrupt their conspiracy.

Glenn Beck really has done a disservice to the American populous by basically teaching a few hundred thousand people how to ignore any sources they choose.

Sure whatever, care to explain Journ'O'list cause that kinda proved that at least one conspiracy theory of recent years was actually conspiracy fact.

Yeah, people can choose who to listen to now instead of being fed one group's view from the mainstream media. Too bad for liberals that apparently they can't win an argument once the truth gets out. You know, things like ACORN, Journ'O'list, Rev. Wright, etc. would never have seen the light of day if not for Fox News. While I know you would have enjoyed those pesky little facts and proof of corruption getting out, the American people are fed up with the corruption.

lol not to mention all those doctored photos of the war and the fact that they tried to hide a black man carrying an AR-15 at an Obama Rally in Phoenix, AZ by only showing him from behind so you don't see his skin colour. They tried to make it look like all the white men carrying guns at the rally were 2nd amendment gung ho racists, but it was actually pretty civilized

Yep that's the one I'm referring to. Have you seen how MSNBC cut out the scenes where you can see the black man's face and generally made it out to be a bunch of angry white men? One thing I will give em credit for is that they said he was carrying a "Semi-automatic assault rifle" instead of a "Machine gun". Well "Semi-automatic assault rifle" is an oxymoron and they f****d up on the terminology as usual, but that's still a big improvement ROFL

Newsweek is having financial issues because people have stopped reading it (cause it has lost credibility).

Crooksandliars is a known left-wing propaganda site.

And Newyorker's name pretty much says it all as to why it probably has no objectivity.

Can we stay on topic or does Inuyasha have to derail every single thread?

Keep in mind that only a very small vocal minority of people who lean to the right support these asinine theories.

It doesn't seem like a small minority anymore. What with all the Fox News viewers and talk radio listeners eating up the ultra-right paranoia like frosted cake.

If your sources have less credibility than a kooky tabloid which is only worth reading for entertainment, then excuse me I will call you out on it. Don't like that, tough.

Really, it looked more like flamebait and trolling on your part. Seriously, if I can completely torpedo your entire topic just by pointing out that your sources have no objectivity and it could be argued have a pathological hatred towards conservatives, then quite frankly that's your problem.

All you have done at this point is proven my point about the Left's lack of tolerance towards people they don't agree with.

Then why is it so many of them are being proven to be true?

Israeli/Lebanon smear campaign in 2006 -- Was proven to be fact anyone with any experience in Computer Graphics would know right off the back the photos were doctored just by looking at them.

Journ'O'list -- Various news agencies and reporters got together with the Obama Campaign to try to get Obama elected in 2008. It was proven to exist thanks to Daily Caller.

Climategate -- To be fair I will argue the majority of climate scientists were probably not involved though it through all their research into question.

Oil for Food Scam -- Discovered to be true after US invaded Iraq. Various countries were involved including France, Germany, Russia, and China.

I'm just naming things off the top of my head, and though the left may deny them till they are blue in the face, it doesn't change the fact that these incidents were quite real.

The extent of Communist influence in mid-20th-century America is greater than most people have been led to believe. Here’s an article from the BBC website:

Quote:

McCarthy: There Were Reds Under the Bed

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t7hhf

David Aaronovitch thinks the unthinkable about the McCarthy period.

The hunt for the so called 'Reds under the beds' during the Cold War is generally regarded as a deeply regrettable blot on U.S history. But the release of classified documents reveals that Joseph McCarthy was right after all about the extent of Soviet infiltration into the highest reaches of the U.S government.

Thanks to the public release of top secret FBI decryptions of Soviet communications, as well as the release under the fifty year rule of FBI records and Soviet archives, we now know that the Communist spying McCarthy fought against was extensive, reaching to the highest level of the State department and the White House.

We reveal that many of McCarthy's anticommunist investigations were in fact on target. His fears about the effect Soviet infiltration might be having on US foreign policy, particularly in the Far East were also well founded.

The decrypts also reveal that people such as Rosenberg, Alger Hiss and even Robert Oppenheimer were indeed working with the Soviets. We explore why much of this information, available for years to the FBI, was not made public. We also examine how its suppression prevented the prosecution of suspects.

But the effect on the America of public servants passing secrets to the Soviets was surely less dramatic and radical than the effect of something far less concealed from public view: the Civil Rights movement. Whether one celebrates the fact or not, it helped turn a country built and dominated by Whites (with immigration laws and anti-miscegenation laws aimed at preserving that dominance) into a multiracial one (with immigration laws, anti-discrimination laws and affirmative action laws that have led and will continue to lead to White dispossession).

Of course, the John Birch society alleged that the Civil Rights movement itself was directed or at least infiltrated by Communists, and largely opposed it on those grounds. I don’t know how accurate that belief was, though it is certainly true that the man who wrote Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech, Stanley Levison, was a member of the Communist Party USA in the 1950s.

I have read that certain ex-members of the JBS wanted the JBS to come out in favour of preserving White hegemony (in addition to fighting communism and preserving the constitution) but were silenced (or even expelled) by its leaders, and that this has led to the belief held by some that the JBS was deliberately rendered harmless and irrelevant by the influence of its financial backers and/or infiltrators.

I don’t know whether this is true or not. What I am fairly certain of is that the vast majority of today’s self-described (American) conservatives would not oppose “civil rights” either in public or in private. So, given that they have already accepted a development so radical, it is no wonder that if and when they talk about radicals secretly subverting their country, they often sound vague and incoherent. That’s not to say liberals are much better. It never ceases to amaze me that liberals (in America, Britain or practically anywhere else in the West) can so often let the continued existence of people called “conservatives” blind them to the fact that their society has been moving in a left-liberal direction for decades.

We are not blind to it. We just don't see it as a "bad" thing. We don't see that legally putting an end to overt racial discrimination amounts to a loss for "whites". It isn't a zero sum game.

I also don't understand how conservatives can tell themselves that the past is better, more free, etc. than the present. It just looks absurd on the face of it. For the vast majority of people living in the 19th century industrial world life was short, brutish, and nasty. Children labored in factories 14 hours a day. The sky was choked with soot. People labored thier entire life and died at an early age. Except for a small minority life sucked more for pretty much all races.

Actually, Eric Arthur Blair aka George Orwell seemed to have been an anarchist at heart considering he joined the anarchist forces during the Spanish civil war, however when doing so he became disillusioned by their incompetence and efficiency as one can read in his 1938 work "Homage to Catalonia".

Having said that, the world of today has past way beyond Orwell's 1984 as modern propaganda is far more insidious, far more complex and far more all-encompassing than Orwell could have envisioned. Also, it would be wrong to label our corporate oligarchy as either "far left" or "far right" since thet control the mainstream discussions on both ends of the spectrum in an attempt to uphold the false impression of political freedom and choice while manipulating the general public through their control of the media. This is all well-documented and hardly "loony conspiract theorist" nonsense as many of you seem to imply. Also, the claims I'm making here exceed ideological boundaries as you'll find freethinking people on both sides of the traditional spectrum (mostly fascists and anarchists) who largely agree on the nature of the corporate oligarchy in charge of the West. The whole JBS rhetoric is just another scapegoating technique intended to divide people as many have pointed out for decades, just like the antisemitic canard that all Jews and only Jews are involved or nonsensical claims about "the black pope" or "reptilians".

Not quite. Today, nearly everything is legislated and our so-called freedoms are limited to the frameworks established by liberal and neoconservative pundits alike. Anything that falls outside of either framework is considered controversial and either ridiculed or censored by the Orwellian nanny state.

The different between now and then is not so much that living standards have improved, but rather that social division has been elevated to a global level. Today, billions of people worldwide live in extreme poverty while providing the goods consumed by the rich West. This system of exploitation and abuse is kept alive by multinational corporations who control both the West and Third World countries through puppet governments and bribery. Yes, it is true that our living standard here in the West have been increased to an acceptable level, but this is at the expense of many personal freedoms as well as the welfare of the slave laborers in Third World countries who produce the goods we consume and who are essential for our system to remain stable.

I agree that this is the current state of affairs. However, I don't believe this is how it has to be. I don't think there is a strict zero sum game. The standard of living can and has gone up in the "producing" parts of the world. It just hasn't been fast enough due to certain resisting factors. It's not just the exploitation of the Third World, it's also part of the reason for all the debt and unemployment in the West. The current economic depression in the West is not simply an effect of the loss of bubble markets that capitalistic forces will enable us to simply "bounce" back from as the American right likes to believe. There's a major global structural imbalance that's been building for decades. The bubbles just allowed us to put off the problem until now.
