Hate is a strenuous emotion. There are very few people I hate. Toward most of humanity I feel indifference. No feeling. Got it? No feeling is just the emotion that a lazy person such as myself can handle. Most of my negative feelings (the few I have) take the form of contempt, contumely, disdain, mockery, low regard, distaste for and rejection. All of which enables me to get along with indifference. But I like my wife, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Interesting factoid: the only country outside Europe where the majority of the population is Lutheran is Namibia.

Someone said something bad about Jews?

Next thing you'll tell me is that some people wrote some unfavorable thing about blacks.

No you don't get it. Having no love for something is not the same as hating that something. Mostly I have no love for most of my fellow humans. I do care about my family though.

I am polite to strangers, but that is just about as much as I will give.

You keep telling yourself that, so you can justify your bigotry. Hate can be cold as often as it's hot.

So...why should anyone really care what someone said about race/religion back in the 19th century?

Whoopdee doo, Luther said stupid things about another group of people just like almost everyone in that time did. Why would you want to give more attention to it? Either you want people to possibly agree with him or be annoyed at you bringing up irrelevant garbage. One could also bring up things Lincoln said that were quite demeaning about African Americans but there really isn't any point.

Actually, Luther wrote those things even further back, in the 16th century. I would think that the passage of so much time would make it even more irrelevant.

Yeah, I look stupid there...I had Lincoln on the brain so I wrote 19th century.

shocked cat seems shocked.

kitler thinks luther's antisemitism was just purrfect.

cereal, though. i don't know that i've ever met an antisemitic lutheran. this doesn't seem odd to me, as i don't, generally, expect religious folk to actually care what their founders believed. ffs, if jesus had the internet, his blog would probably be something like "seriouslyguysstopbeingdicks.com" rather than "godhatesfags.com"

well.... maybe republicanjesus (like raptorjesus, but more often with guns!)...

in high school, i once went to a lutheran church on a wednesday night (with a girl whose pants i was trying to get into) and the youth minister dedicated the whole evening to explaining why god doesn't actually have a problem with premarital sex. i've been less judgmental of lutherans ever since. :)

But it is good when Mother Theresa dies.

So glad you are so free from hate.

I've yet to meet a hateful or bigoted Lutheran. Hateful Baptists, sure. Lutherans seem peaceable enough folk, though.

I considered M.T. an evil person. Rejoicing at the death of an evil person is not hatred. Rather, it is celebration. I celebrated the death of Hitler and Stalin too.
