Most of the die-hard 2012 fanatics are the same people who were saying Nibiru will be arriving in 2003; obviously, our Reptilian shape-shifter gods didn't return to steal all of our gold to protect their atmosphere, so I have doubts about 2012 as well

Ah Nemesis theory  . I always enjoy reading about astronomical conspiracy theories. The idea that a brown dwarf exists in our solar system seems slightly implausible to me. Though apparently our sun is actually abnormal for not having a companion. For something out there to be a brown dwarf would mean it needs around 80 times the mass of Jupiter, which I think would definitely show up gravitationally  But people seem willing to believe just about anything if it means making the world a little more interesting

My world ended when Justin Bieber's Baby video gained 400 million views on YouTube. Nah but, if the world does end in 2012, that's fair enough. I have no idea what to do with my life anyway. My Dad wants it to end just so his enemies go as well .

If the world ends in 2012 I hope I can drive my limousine expertly through collapsing buildings and be able to pull off at least two airplane take-offs closely followed by massive walls of flame

F**k yeah, solar flare things are starting again in the next few years, which is exactly how it started in the movie 2012. We're all f**king doomed.

I think that if we survive this 2011 (Consider: The economy, The alimentary crisis, the natural disasters and the political ripple wave Egypt is still going to cause), we'll be fine in 2012.

One thing's for sure, I'm gonna make Christmas 2011 one to remember, as it could be the last. And to top it off, it has to snow!

I'm going to have to start making some serious bets with people about this. I mean, if I win the bet, I win money, if I lose the bet, I lose money, but I die anyways, so who the frack cares

All xmas you celebrate could be the last, for you at least.

I think that the most supernatural event in 2012 will be the suicides caused by the hysteria.

ROFL

I never got the saying "Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it" til I thought about self fulfilling prophesies.

I have read at least one instance of a girl in India, of all places, committing suicide because of said doomsday event

That was on account of the hadron particle accelerator in '08, unless there are droves of Indian women killing themselves for silly reasons.

I don't understand why people get all miserable about it. Might as well make the best outta your last days. I know if 2012 turned out to be real, I wouldn't be sitting there miserably waiting to die. I'd shoot, snort, drink, smoke, and pop everything. At least that way I get to die happy and if I don't end up dead, the next morning would make me wish I was lol.

Well - you are more of an optimist than I can be, though the basic idea is there.

Alimentary crisis? Something new my wife's news skimming has missed?

Nonsense. There is nothing special about 30. Anything you could say about being 30 you could say almost the same about being 29 or 31.
