Evolution from a Creationist perspective is actually very diverse. I've seen many Creationists argue that a species (like a snake) could evolve into several varieties. What they didn't believe was an amoeba becoming a lion no matter how much time it was given.

I think they used the terms macro-evolution and micro-evolution.

The snake? IF so, you gotta know your herpetology.

Or did I miss something?

It's not a girl?

"Varieties", yes. That is undeniable, given the many varieties of dogs that exist.

"Species", no.

So that snake must have lived some time before the snake that spoke to Eve.

It does seem harsh, doesn't it? Only one snake did it, and all species of snake had their legs cut off.

Are you being serious?

ruveyn

Even I - el humorlessoso - can calculate the odds on that one.

Well, weren't we all just waiting for someone to interject a comment from a Creationist perspective?

---------------

HONK HONK! FOUL. Illegitimate inference and inadequate attention

My comment did not come from a Creationist perspective. Nor an Evolutionist perspective because as the terms are normally understood I am neither.

Look well, O wolves.

You will see, in contect, I am indicating the probability of your remark being serious [see ruveyn's question] is rather low.

So panda to you, Pooh Bear.

I was actually refering to my comment. For this thread, I am adopting a creationist viewpoint, for the sake of argument.

Sorry - some of us [my wife can testify] are not so good at catching implications below a certain level of probability. You have, I know shown a tendency to get into costume, but in that post I failed to catch it.

I retract the Pooh Bear [not that it is that bad a slam, both Pooh and pandas figure frequently in my oeuvre].

Oh, I took "Pooh Bear" as a term of endearment, if anything.

Now, back to my creationist argument/rant.

People think that Noah had a big job, building the ark, saving the animals, etc. But, his biggest job came after the flood. He had to make sure that the marsupials were safely situated in Australia (no lions, camels, or elephants allowed), that the penguins were dropped of in Antarctica, that lemurs would rule Madagascar, and that appropriate species of monkeys would be placed in South America, Africa and Asia. Plus, he had a lot of aquariums on his ark. The salt-water fish and mammals may have found their own way around. But, fresh water fish had to be put in their own habitats. No Asian carp would be permitted in the Great Lakes until the 21st century. Otherwise, Asian carp would rule all of the world's fresh water habitats.

"Oh, I took "Pooh Bear" as a term of endearment, if anything. Heart"

When REALLY angry I used to throw my slipper HARD against the wall.

I do not do a lot of hard core violence.

I rather like Pooh - a bit simple, but there are worse things to be.

Snakes Lost their Legs Through Evolutionary Time - Apparently snakes lost their ability to speak Aramaic too. According to the Bible of Judaism, there was speaking snake in the Garden of Eden.

All questions about the validity of sacred scripture can be directed to the official Department of USA approved religions:

White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships ...
The initiative sought to strengthen faith-based and community organizations ... They also argued that faith-based initiatives were used as part of electoral ...
Under George W. Bush (Inventor of Dept. of Religions) - Under Barack Obama (Reformer of Dept. of Religions) - Controversies - See also

Depends on what Creationist you talk to, like I said.

Personally, I believe Creation and Evolution are not in conflict unless you're one of those that thinks the world is 600,000 years old.

Then I just think you're a moron.

Actually, the world is only 6,000 years old. Read your Bible.

Bishop Ussher's reckoning is proof positive that the Bible is a book of tales. It is largely fiction.

it's not in the bible. It was thought by a mathematician from the Vatican that the Earth was created on a Wednesday sometime in the afternoon 6,000 years ago. He was in error.

Humans have tailbones. At a certain stage in zygotic development, the fetus has a tail for a short time.

You're right, the belief is 6,000. I still think anyone that believes it is a moron.

Not much of a mathematician, if you ask me.

No no, its 6000 in 'God years', which are kind of like 'Dog years', but instead of 1 year translating into 7, 6000 translates in 13.7 billion, and Dog is God spelled backwards furthering the empirical evidence for my theory
