That would violate at least two laws of thermodynamics. Don't count on it.

Hello, Romanticism? This is ruveyn. Allow me to introduce you to cold, hard reality.

I'm not counting on it. Our species is probably just an evolutionary dead end writhing alone in a dark uncaring universe.
Then again one day thermodynamics will probably look like renaissance science.

Thermodynamics is one of the most empirically support science. It is back up to the ying yang by a growing body of evidence collected by the most technologically sophisticated means.

For a second there I read it as back up to the yin yang and wondered how Far East Religious ideas could play a part in the science behind Thermodynamics.

To me, the idea of not believing in an afterlife is totally separate from whether or not your life has purpose. I find that my life has more purpose from me being an atheist. Rather than spending all my time praying and living according to a 2000 year old book, I try to contribute in a positive way to society and the world. I believe that our purpose should be to leave the world a better place than we left it. We don't necessarily have to do something Earth-shattering, just our some small thing to have contributed to society. And if I can enjoy myself a little in the process, then so much the better.

Oh, La la.

I was going to get sarcastic, but it would be a waste.

Even this is a waste:

EVERY - every single itsy bitsy scientific theory, assumption, datum, formulation, is a course correction waithing to happen.

Even with peer reviewed orthodoxy being Ptolemy and Aristotle there are barbarian hordes of scientist seeking sooth and glory poking loopholes and trying to link puzzle pieces that may flip flop the paradigm.

O you who pity the ignorant CroMagnon for that they know little of what you know, look forward a hundred, perhaps 50 years to those who pity your ignorance while working to refute their knowledge.

They are scattered all over the place and vary in how specifically they adress this issue, so I can't give you a good example off the top of my head, but they are definately in there. "

My question: Where?

I recently found one:

Paul of Tarsus wrote:
For when the gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bering witness, and their thoughts the meanwhile accusing or excuse one another.

The epistle of Paul to the Romans 2:14-15

That is nonsense of course. You have been reading books like the Dancing Woo Woo Masters again. Eastern religion has little or nothing to do with real empirically based phsyics. In fact the basic premise of the Easter Mysteries is that the world we all see and sense and live in is nothing but an Illusion. Very unscientific. Reality is Real. The World is Reals. The World is the Only Reality.

Just an attempt at humor, that I was likely the only one to appreciate. That was the purpose of the wink emoticon.

The Yin and Yang is a balance of emotion and logic that is antithetical to our way of life in the west. I found the play on words interesting because of your seemingly strong alliance to logic. However, scientific evidence suggests that most our decisions are influenced more by emotion than logic. Some of the eastern religions seem to support a balanced approach to life, that is conducive to good mental health.

Humans, in general, are subject to the illusions of culture that are driven by emotionality. While, Eastern religions don't seek to prove the laws of physics, some do support the idea of Yin and Yang, which is a method to achieve homeostatsis, a physical state of mind and body that is necessary for good health, and supported by science.

The biological relationship of thermodynamics and homestatsis seems to be clear. When we achieve a balance of energy for homeostatis we impact the human cost of the second law of thermodynamics; the inevitable consequence of biological entropy.

I'm glad I don't believe in any gods, but it would be cool to believe in an afterlife. I hope my belief that there isn't an afterlife is wrong.

She sounds like the kind of girl I'd like to meet. Sluts ftw.
